Who will prove to be the strongest climbing team as we battle the mighty Angliru? This climb will be a good reconneisance trip for those hoping to ride the Vuelta - although they wont be doing the climb in a team when Stage 12 comes along.
Eurosport and Credit Lyonnais were the first two teams to ride.
But France Televisions comfortably took 1st at the finish.
Domina Vacanze were next and took 2nd - before American Suzuki then went faster, with a much better time than in the qualifiers.
But all eyes are on Magenta, they have stormed up the mountain and absolutely demolish the lead time - 44 seconds faster than France Televisions!
Virgin could only manage 4th, before Erste went 2nd, still some 36 seconds slower than Magenta.
Neither La Gazetta nor Carlsberg could come close to Magenta, going 9th (Out of 10) and 5th respectively.
Festina took 9th and Accumalux 7th, but both lost a minute on Magenta.
Fed-Ex came in in last place, but Nintendo were better, going ever so slightly quicker than France Televisions for 3rd.
Neither Philips, White Bear Steyr, Nippo nor Wikipedia could make an impact, with only Philips breaking into the Top 10.
But La/MSS/Pearl Jam pulled off an excellent performance to finish in 8th, the best continental team and faster than many of the stronger ProTour teams.
Magenta take an impressive victory, and look to have a strong season ahead of them.

I'd say it would be a glitch if you didn't

9th is fine -- but I repeat, 'Philips' is spelled with just one 'l'! |

I can tell it was a very interesting race just by seeing that, at the podium celebrations, there were only sheep present!!!
8th? Damn it... I was expecting at least a podium...

I'm very happy with 3rd, didn't expect this at all.
But we'd all better watch out for Magenta
