There is many types of locked thread
1) A thread where the discussion cone out of control.
2) A thread who only is more or lesser spamming.
3) Stupid or no-sense threads
3 examples on why admins lock a thread |

Moving a thread just like that is lack of democracy!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

But.... It is a comment!
Seriously, a brands poll? What's next? A "who had the best car drivers in the Giro history" poll?
Three locked threads means just one thing: start thinking about how many unneccessary threads you should open at the same time.

I thought I was in a site with people passionate about cycling, but instead I was wrong, I repeat that block a poll is lack of democracy, this is my idea maybe I'm too old to understand the dynamics of the web |

People here are passionate about cycling.
But there are threads to discuss that. Clobbering the site with so many specific threads just make things chaotic.
You can have a building of 1000 rooms and in every room sits a man singing. Or you can have all those people in one hall and sing as a choir.
that's the best way I can explain it. |

Plenty of democracy around here, if there wasn't then why would you be able to post a thread about your threads being locked? We didn't need a thread about the most prestigious bike brand but maybe you could of looked for the Bike Porn thread and asked the question there instead of opening a new poll up, every question doesn't need a poll.
