So the sponsors are setting you some goals. Deservedly as they also provide you with money.
But how important are these goals, should you make all of them?
And what if you win or have good performances at other races?
For instance I wanted to play a career with either Trek, Lampre or Lotto-Jumbo but I don't believe I will be able to make all goals upfront (and even after negotiating them down a little I won't be able to make them).
Is it ok if you only make 70% of the goals, or should you make all of them?
And on the other hand, how does the sponsor react if you win races that are not part of the sponsor goals. For instance Garmin-Cannondale does not appear to have a goal for either the Tour de France or Vuelta a Espana. Will they reward me for good performances? And what happens if I just neglect these races and (hypothetically) sent my 9 worse riders to them? Are they still fine with that?
Lastly, is there an overview available for the sponsor goals per World Tour Team? I'd love to see them upfront before choosing my team career.
The more you make, the happier the sponsor and the more money you'll get next season.
Getting 70% should result in a decent happiness and will probably keep your money about even. If you win big races, not sponsor objective, they'll give you credit for it. So just perform well all around and things'll be all right
If you completely neglect their objectives, be prepared for a drop in finances.
Sponsor goals are always recalculated at the start of a season, based on team strength and individual riders (type of riders), so you can't have an overview, they're "random". You can restart a couple of times to match objectives you like more (or edit them using an editor)
Thanks Ian. But if the Tour de France is not part of your objectives you can sent in a weak squad, right?
I believe at the start of the game most teams have stable objectives, with some small variations in races and slightly more variation in the distribution of importance and objective per race (i.e. I started 10 games with Garmin-Cannondale and never had an objective for either the Tour de France or the Vuelta, while I did have obectives for the TDU, TA, AGR, Giro, Cali, Utah, Dutch championship, Italian championship and US championship and a couple of other in all instances, but the distribution of top 3, top 5, top 10 etc were different every time).
Given the above it should be possible to have an overview of first season objectives per squad (and I believe the objectives for Trek, Lampre en LottoNL were too difficult).
@Vlama: i believe ca 15, although only the first upcoming 5 are shown in your sponsor screen if you do not switch to the specific goal screen.
