Time for another TT here in the Dauphiné, only this time you're all on your own. There are only 26km on the road today, but you're bound to see some adjustments in the GC.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/met.png Marlen Zmorka is the first to cause claim a notable time with 35'06.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Dauphine/6-1.png

He holds the lead from very strong opponents like pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ven.png Howson, or pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/kar.png Fiedler, but won't manage to fend off pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ork.png Viennet who takes 7'' off of his time!

Plenty of other candidates to the stage try their luck, but nobody looks able to beat him. As we enter the top50, this is the current classification:

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Dauphine/6-2.png

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/aeg.png Martin Keizer is one of the very few to write his name in today’s top10, but the dutch champion can only come 2nd to the leading Frenchman.

Let’s just have a quick glance at some performances today, before the GC’s top10 start their TT:
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ork.png Emilien Viennet34'46
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/bac.png Elia Viviani13
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/met.png Marlen Zmorka20
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/bec.png Leopold König33''
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/kar.png Jacob Fiedler37
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/aeg.png Lars Boom37
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/pok2.png Nico Keinath39
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/pok2.png Thomas Faiers42
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/fes.png Pierre-Henri Lecuisinier44
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/met.png Mikhail Ignatiev46
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/mei.png Chen Shikai53
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/bec.png Jesse Sergent56
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ozc.png Haijun Ma1'01
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/pok2.png Nicolas Roche1'08
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/pnd.png Tim Kennaugh1'33
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/mus.png Vadim Ratiy1'49
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/akm.png Rasmus Guldhammer2'14
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/bac.png Javier Moreno2'30
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/aeg.png Fabio Aru2'54
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/gde.png Idan Shapira3'31

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/tcs.png Kritskiy is the next rider to pose some kind of threat to the stage, by claiming 2nd best time at the intermediate, losing only 8’’.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Dauphine/6-4.png

He comes to the line recording 34’56, only 10’’ away from the best time, to claim provisional 2nd. This will surely put some pressure on his rivals.

Behind him pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/btc.png Tim Wellens has a hard time defending his position, which he'll eventually lose to the russian. 36’14 is his final time, but he’s still well placed to take the U25 classification at the moment, which should be his goal for now.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sui.png Vincenzo Nibali is next in line and he too seems to be in a good day as he passes as 6th best at the intermediate with only 14'' more than the leader.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Dauphine/6-5.png

The Italian keeps a steady pace throughout the rest of the course to claim the 6th best time at the finish, 24’’ slower than the current leader, which will surely keep him in the top5 hunt.

After him comes yesterday's glorious winner, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ork.png Romain Sicard. Today is different, since he doesn't have as much ability against the clock as he has in the mountains. He does, however, finish with a respectable time of 35’37, which leaves him inside of a minute distance of his team mate at the end.

Unlike him, though, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/pro.png Robert Gesink the European TT champion, does enjoy the TTs as his title suggests. He proves that by recording a time only 2'' slower at the checkpoint!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Dauphine/6-6.png

He would go on to lose 4'' more to claim provisional 2nd place, but so far the best of all GC candidates!

Speaking of champions, here goes pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/vwa.png Brandle, who's having a sensational race. He finds himself, almost randomly, fighting for the top5! But he certainly will want to prove he deserves to be within the best here. Brandle defends himself pretty well against the clock and manages to lose only 7'' to Viennet at midpoint.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Dauphine/6-7.png

The gap will grow to 15'' at the end, but it's a classy act so far for the austrian in this race!

But it's time for the man everyone has been waiting for. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/btc.png Rein Taramaae, last year's winner has a pretty big card to play today, as he can take advantage of his superiority in the race of truth in comparison to his direct rivals. The Estonian champion, blasts through the intermediate point, vanishing Viennet's time by being 27'' faster there!!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Dauphine/6-8.png

It's no surprise as he comes to the line and finishes with a time of 34'01, 44'' less than the previous leader!! Astonishing effort from the defending champion!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ozc.png Pozzovivo on the other hand can't count on his team's expertise against the clock today, and will definitely have a hard time to hold off Taramaae. He loses 1'15 already at the checkpoint!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Dauphine/6-9.png

...and will finish with a total deficit of 2'11 for the Estonian. This was always going to be a bad day for him.

Next up comes pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/vsa.png Andy Schleck. The Luxembourgian came here as one of the very top favourites to win the race, but yesterday's weird tactics from his team may have blocked his chances, so he needs a reasonable time today to stay in contention. He loses 46'' midway through the route, being 11th best there.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Dauphine/6-10.png

And finishes with a time 1'21 down on Taramaae. It's not enough to prevent Taramaae from overtaking him, but he stays in close proximity, which must have been the goal for today.

But there is still one rider on the road. The impressive pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/vsa.png Jaime Suaza has won the privilege of starting last today, but will have difficulty maintaining the yellow. The colombian clocks a time 53'' slower at the checkpoint.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Dauphine/6-11.png

And finishes his effort conceding a total of 1'33, which means pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/btc.png Rein Taramaae is our new yellow jersey wearer!

The Estonian has the Vesuvio’s duo hovering around half a minute behind him, so it’s going to be an interesting stage tomorrow. Gesink and Brandle complete the top5, while there are 4 other riders behind them which also eager to dispute a place among the best.
