It'll be interesting to see what they do in the next PCM about the Monte Paschi Eroica. There's no "gravel roads" in PCM. just asphalt or cobbles. and gravel is more like asphalt than cobbles, but still extremely different.
Probably they won't do didly squat about it, just as they never did anything about the lack of realism of cobbled races (every one of them attacks fly in like it's Paris-Roubaix...), but it would still be interesting to see what they'll do about it. I'm curious.

Well, I think they use the gravel as cobblestones, but, I really hope that they're gonna change it! |

It would take five minutes for them to include it.
Just add a new type of road to the program, and do what they do for cobbles, which is alter the effectiveness of riders on it, and create a texture in a graphics program.
I know how to program well enough to know that it would take some lackey at the company a day to do this. |

It would take 5 minutes. But that's not all that needs to be done. "alter the effectiveness of riders". how? just make it harder for them irregardless of their stats? I'd go for that, but people might have other ideas. there has to be planning behind it. there also needs to be extensive testing.
Making a game or any other application doesn't take much time at all. Adjusting the balance is what takes the most time. "Getting it right" is tedious, frustrating, boring and extremely long and in many cases difficult.
EDIT: the likelyhood of punctures should also be increased, methinks.

I wouldn't expect or any have expectations of seeing that in PCM, but I'll ask Clément. Who knows .. maybe we are up for a surprise |

While youre at it, ask him to bugger down into their Blood Bowl department and get us some beta invites. (Tell him its for bbdaily.com)
Also tell him that ill never buy PCM09 if PCM08 turns out bad. And thats partly serious.

Yes, it would take some planning, but what I was implying was that it is very possible. |

I don't think it would take any time or money at all, it would involve copying the cobblestone code, changing around a few variables, and making a new texture. I mean, I could do that in 3-4 hours. |

But Cyanide would probably just think: "Cancellara won it this year ahead of Ballan, so we'll just use the cobbles texture"

The problem is that it's completely different from riding on cobbles. It's harder yes, but it's harder on everyone, it's the same whether you weigh 50kg or 100kg. The "only" effects it should have are that heartbeat should go up (with it's associated effects on the energy bars) and there's a huge increase in the likelyhood of punctures.
And if anyone tries to dispute this and say it's a lot like cobbles, I'll point you to the last Giro gravel road stage which was won by Rujano
