We're heading for Mallorca, where the next stages will be held. Today's hilly parcours from Palma to Palma as a first true test for the riders. Will we see the GC-contenders attacking?

GC-leader Swift will hope for a less selective race, while top-puncheurs like Van Garderen (who already lost minutes) should aim for line honours at least.

Opposing to the previous stages, we see only 3 riders attacking the bunch early into the first climb:

They are all + 6.26 in the GC, but with Roux we do have one of the stronger puncheurs going for an early move today. He takes the first mountain sprint and of course this is a big goal for those three here.

Let's sum up the next kilometres quickly: Lebas would be dropped halfway through the stage, where Roux and Pirazzi would go for a thrilling KoM-battle:

The duo would not only fight for the KoM, but also a stage-win looks doable with now less than 15km remaining their lead still at 2 minutes!

It's the final climb today and also pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/mei.png Cunego now goes clear from the pack! The veteran will surely try to gain some time in hilly stages:

12.8km to go and he's opening up a 27"-gap quickly, trying to jump across Sagan as soon as possible!

Roux/Pirazzi cross the final hilltop with a 50"-lead on Sagan and Cunego though.. 10km remaining for the duo, with Roux taking the last mountain sprint and the KoM-lead!

The peloton (still 127 riders) is down by 1'20" and slowly narrowing this gap now..

Less than 5km left and Pirazzi dropped Roux on the tricky descend! The Italian leads by 32" on Roux, who's now accompanied by Cunego!

Sagan further 24" behind and the peloton comes another 28" later.. this is going to be close gaps maybe..

With the finish in Palma de Mallorca approaching, we see GC-leader pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/vsa.png Swift at the front of the chasing bunch. Project 1t4i is doing most of the work though, with Cunego as a serious threat for guys like Gesink. Will Swift defend the red jersey that way?

Other sprinters got dropped in the meantime: Zabel, Goss, Vanderbiest, Guardini, Avermaet, Guerao, Mohs.. also Gjolberg (GC's 3rd) will lose some time today.

Pirazzi still holding on to a notable gap on Cunego, who dropped Roux in the meantime! This looks too much of a gap for Cunego to take the stage, but he's still fighting to gain seconds on the bunch..

Guldhammer, Flügel and Van Garderen on the further positions, while Swift goes for 9th eventually...

And it's good news for the Brit today: Swifty stays in the GC-lead by 9 seconds on Cunego! Tomorrow's first long timetrial will of course mix the whole GC, but every day in red is a good day.

Howard new 3rd after also surviving the stage in the main group (same goes for Criado and Tzortzakis)..
