Jersey Posts by Barbaruvian
Hi Guys,
Haven't been making jerseys since... ooh? 2010?
It's been a long while!
Anyway, my treat on a new computer was PCM15. And, what do you know? I don't actually go using the fancy new graphics card, I'm content with sitting down and making some graphics of my own.
All feedback is appreciated! I'm still in a 2010 mindset, so my logos are probably all off. Let me know, please!
-EDIT-
I am more than happy for people to use these jerseys, it's [part of] why they're up here!! If you want anything... NCs, WCs, even the .xcf, just let me know!
Here are my first efforts:
Unilever - Shimano
Lupa Supermercados (2010 remake)

They're really looking promising. Try putting some time in the adjustment of sizes of logos, some of them are a bit too big.
Second part is something I'm still struggling with as well: bending the logos to make them look right in-game. Check this section of the website for some tutorials on this.

Aah, bending logos!
I might give it a go, but I want to make a fair few jerseys first, so I get a feel for myself the logo placement.
Here's another one: Anyone know where it's from?
Lucky Strike

I love it, great work.
Then jersey is from the era of formula 1 where there were a lot of nice livery designs on the cars. This, the blue Sauber, the silver/black West McLaren's, the blue and white Williams that I can't remember the sponsor of. Later on the Mild Seven Renault's and the BMW design that replaced Sauber, abit earlier you had the orange arrows, the nice yellow Jordan's, and the dark blue Prosts.
Would you consider making any more of them as I think a lot of them would make nice cycling jerseys, as would some of the MotoGP bike liveries from the past aswell.
And if you decide to add a few NC's and WC jersey's to for the one's you've created it would be very much appreciated.

Nice knowledge sammy!
I grew up with those f1 liveries, lots of them were great. The charcoal mclaren sidepods for kimi and coulthard stand out for me, sauber was great, and the fighter pilot angry eyes on the jordans.
Hmm I might make a couple, we'll see.
Sure, I can do NCs and WCs! What natchamps jerseys do you fancy? |

I reckon the Lucky strike badge could be used to make a great Japanese NC, maybe some of the nations the drivers of the team were aswell, so British, Canadian, French. And American because I think it's an American sponsor.
Is Unilever Dutch? if so then Benelux nations and Germany and France would fit well.
I've no idea where Lupa Supermercados is from but maybe that nation and a couple of ones that are close to it.
And I based my ManGame team loosely off the Sauber Petronas car from the mid 2000's, making it Swiss/ Malaysian with them as sponsors and using a jersey that takes inspiration from the livery of that car.
When I think of McLaren I think of the Coulthard/ Hakkinen West McLaren of the late 90's early 2000's.
That Jordan was really nice, one of my favourite early F1 memories is the Brazil race in I think 04 where they finally got a win in a race where virtually everyone crashed out and no-one stood on the correct step on the podium because of the mix up between them and Kimi's McLaren and Alonso (3rd) being medically treated whilst the podium ceremony happened.

Hmm Unilever is joint Dutch English I think? Lupa Supermercados is a supermarket chain in Spain.
I think what I'll do is make NCs and WCs on commission for anyone who wants them, rather than ready uploading willy nilly.
Ill edit the front post, but if anyone wants NCs or anything, just let me know! |

Sammy got me thinking. Forget Mild Seven Renaults, I can do one better...
Rather conflicted jersey: The livery says mild seven, the bold backpiece says camel, but the team's really called Benetton.
United Colours of Benetton
A whole lot of history to fit on one jersey. |

The mix of two liveries (Camel, Mild Seven (also with parts from late 90s and early 00s livery)) |

The muscled bit on the chest [kinda] goes all the way back to Teo Fabi, Jonny Herbert and the late 1980s 15 years of Motorsport desecrated in one fell swoop! |

Logo sizes are a bit better, but still bigger than usual. Especially the logos on the back of the jersey and on the sides of the shorts would look much better in-game imo.
I see great potential though, keep up the good work!

Here's what I mean:

You can see that the logos get blurry outside the margins I drew in red. Nevertheless, good work on the designs, they're original and creative

I think you're knocking on the door of a big debate here haasje!
I've never been sure that I've wanted photorealism, even when real jerseys are concerned.
Just a link to a CSC jersey I did for 2011
https://pcmdaily.c...ost_601843
It's a 'real' jersey, but it's still not photo realistic.
Tbh maybe photorealism looks better if it's done well? I don't think it looks as good in game where you only see the jerseys from distance? Either way, it's not my thing enough for me to put the extra effort in. |
