Support the team you like the most based on riding style, likeable riders, young talents, targetting nice races etc.
We can't really decide it for you, and nationality does not have to be the decisive factor.
(Weird for me to say considering I support the team of my home country, but yea )
I see why you'd want to do that. Maybe you can start following some Danish riders and at some point you will probably encounter other riders and teams you like.
Personally I don't like supporting any of the ''big money'' teams. From Danish perspective:
Cannondale-Garmin has Hansen, Orica has Cort.
Then there's obviously Tinkoff with lots of Danish riders(although I'm afraid they'll slowly get dropped) but as you said you dislike them.
Astana has Fuglsang as best Danish rider, probably, but they are overall not very well liked I think
There is also Bak in Lotto Soudal, he's awesome but he's getting older.
Cult Energy is a Danish team on the 2nd level of cycling, which could be interesting for you to follow.
However considering they are on the 2nd level(Pro Continental), obviously they will not ride most of the huge races, so they could be more difficult to follow.
Personally I think Orica-Greenedge is a very sympathic team to follow, and in Cort they've got what probably is the most exciting Danish prospect.
But in the end, it is all up to you.

My suggestion would be to watch cycling for a while and observe the teams, which riders they have, how they are racing, how they handle the media and etc and make up your mind along the way Personally I don't support specific teams, but I especially like Lotto Soudal, Giant and Katusha. |

Euskaltel - Euskadi of course.. sure, they have folded, but the legend never dies.
Like others already advised, it's probably best you just follow cycling with an interest and you'll find likeable riders and teams very, very fast.

I'm fairly certain they don't. Who's that Contador dude anyway?

In all the years I've watched cycling I've never had a favourite team, for the simple reason they're not like football teams and are temporary and can change at any time.
You're better off just supporting the riders that you like, because of their riding style, type of races they do and their attitude etc. For example most of my favourite riders are classics men.
So who are some of your favourite riders? |

No one can tell you who you should like, it all has to come from the heart. Who do you cheer for? Who do you like winning? Who inspires you? Who gets you to jump up from the sofa? Who has the qualitites that you seek in a person, in an idol? What 'turns' you on in cycling? Attack in the mountains, riders from your homecountry - nationality, blood and sweat on the cobbles, calculating riding in the hills, a soft personality, a controversiel personality. They are all out there. But no one can tell you who to root for, you gotta figure that out yourself - like no one can choose your partner, it's all gotta come from the inside.
Present:
Tinkoff-Saxo - AG2R - Colombian riders
Past:
Francisco Mancebo - Illes balears - Carlos Sastre - Kelme - Robbie McEwen

Fuck nationalism, never understood why it should come down to the riders birthplace who you support, I guess you just get exposed a lot more to riders from your country. Anyways, danish riders suck, stay away from them if you dont like to get disappointed over and over again. Yeah, its nice with some interviews here and there and I guess they are funny, but not really anymore than that!
Which races and types of riders do you like do you like - classics, sprint, mountain, hills? Fairly sure it will just come naturally once you figure that out, because aint nobody can tell you which team or riders to support. If it stood to me, I like Movistar's riders and thus have come to support them as a team, but I guess after the TV-exposure they got in Denmark and especially Bjarne Riis, nobody likes them. Otherwise, if you like those mountains, go check Ag2R team out, they have some promising (and fat) young guys! |

Always supported AG2R and history has shown they've had some iconic riders, so I don't see that changing over the next 5 years. Result wise you might be a disappointed, but everyone tend to favour the underdogs

I started supporting some german riders, especially Voigt and Tony and with him also HTC-Highroad. After Voigt retired, I mainly focused on Tony and since Tony went to OPQS, I started supporting them. Now its Etixx, but I still support riders and teams which I simply symapthise with. Examples are MTN, all germans of Giant, Wilco, Gesink, Benoot, Gilbert, Vervaeke, Bardet, Porte, Swift, Kennaugh and Voeckler. The only guy I really dislike (besides Wiggins) is Dan Martin.
IMPORTANT: This text wasn't about me. It's about I started to support the guys and teams I support today. Maybe do it the same way. Follow some guys and after this, follow their team as well and maybe some teams or guys you sympathise with. Just like who you like.

I would generally say I agree with some of the others, find riders you like rather than teams, and support them and their team. Some people really value nationalism, (for example I started following Taylor Phinney and Tejay Van Garderen, so I became a BMC fan).
