PCM 12 crashes creating new career

Hello,

New to the game, and attempting to start a career in PCM12. After I click on 'NEXT' on the page where you select a name and set your date of birth, the game freezes while it is 'specializing riders'...

any ideas

PS - I own PCM13 as well, and it does the same thing.
