Does anyone has any tip on how to really drop your rivals on the big climbs? I am playing vuelta a espana 2015 with purito and I am 1:47 ahead of froome, however I really need to gain some more time before the time trial, where i will lose maybe 4 minutes. I have played two big mountain stages and besides wining them both, because my acc is way better than froome's, in the first one he ended up with the same time as me and in the second one i only one 13 seconds in the final sprint because of a steeper slope there in the end. Does anyone knows whats the best method to drop him? Should i accelarate very often or maintain a really high tempo? In pcm 2014 I used to follow atacks and set a high tempo but in this game i feel that i am just dragging him up the mountain |

Another mountain stage and another stage win but with just 11 seconds on the road... I mean the bots are so overpowered this year! He attacked me once and I followed than he attacked again and I used Moreno to catch him but even then he was setting such a high pace that I could only sprint for the win again.... Is it impossible to really drop the main rivalls on the climbs this year because of the faster yellow bar decreasse? |

it's quite simple, if you want to drop him you really have to be the best or have left the most energy.
Froome has more MO than Rodriguez, so winning the sprint is about the maximum you can do, unless AI makes Froome spend his energy unwisely, then you could profit. For example in a multi mountain stage you can exploit the AI.
But it's really hard. |

Faster yellow bar decrease does also happen to the AI.
The ''golden method'' is using dot, once again this year. Just dot a bit lower than you did last year. Although with your ACC it could be a good idea to try to attack when he burned up his helpers. Before he burned up his helpers, you better not attack, considering especially the Sky domestiques are very strong.
Might be an idea to attack with Moreno, hoping to put some pressure on the Sky domestiques, hopefully burning them up(a bit)
And what Ruben said.
Well considering it's the Vuelta, Purito might be a better climber at this point because of good form(I'm pretty sure Froome already peaked for Tour, not sure how fresh Purito is though, ofc )

Well frrome won the tour while rodriguez did not compete for the top places there, only finishing 9 th place with the mountain jersey as well. Bassically I'm pretty fresh and in top condition for the vuelta. In the mountain stages I allways use zakarin and trofimov in the first mountains and froome ussualy gets to the bottom of the last climb without any helpers. The problem is then because when he attacks I follow and then he attacks again and again and then he just sets such a high pace than takes rodriguez to the limit, almost with no yellow bar, and I just have to wait for the sprint to not complettely blow up |

I still use the good old dot method, but somehow with a weaker rider i find actually attacking more rewarding this year. |

Then why not set a strong pace(ideally with a key helper if you still have one?) so he can't attack?

Whenever I do that the other rideres just ride away. I am playing on extreme i don't know if that is the reason why this is happening but in this career whenever i don't imediatelly follow the attack of a main candidate and set a strong tempo instead he jsut rides away and I never seem to be able to get closer to him |

On extreme it will obviously be very hard to ride away from someone that already has a higher MO stat.
That MO difference will only be (much) bigger on extreme.

On the tour, in stage 19 I did a really good attack with Quintana, arreondo and simon yates with 70 km to go with still 3 mountains to the finish, wich allowed me to win the mountain jersey and enter the top 10. But then I was 12 minutes behind contador and froome and I don't think they will let the red jersey do that in the vuelta... |

Oh, I expected two or three at least.
But still, on extreme, the ''AI stat multiplier'' is 105%, meaning Froome will obviously be quite a bit stronger than Purito if you do exactly the same effort, and it takes some special stuff to actually gain time on him.

Yeah the difference was acttually three but I did some mountain training before the vuelta hehehe. I only have one reall mountain stage left so I have to make it count. Do you think it might be a good ideia to atack from far? |

I dropped him in the final mountain stage but could only win 32 seconds. I think i will lose the vuelta in the time trial... |
