Easy-peasy. Most others put each one on dot(99)- I just put my best climbers to relay on the front.

Is there a thread to help beginner with this game ? I play with tinko saxo and I would like to have some tips to win a mountain stage.
How do you do to make a higt tempo during the stage ? What is your skills?
PS: sorry for my bad english
First, if you are a begginer you should start to play on easy level until you get used to the game mechanics
To win mountain stages, always protect from the start your best climber with one of your riders and your second best with another one until the point of the stage they have to show up themselves (last climb or hardest climb, normally). They won't spend much energy this way until then.
Then, protect your best climber with the second one. You have several options:
If you are the best climber of the field, or you feel stronger than the others (daily form, energy, etc.), you should set a high pace (80 or so with the dot on your best climber) on the hardest part at the bottom in order to get alone with your two riders (leader and protector). The protector will burn its energy quickly, but will save a lot of your leader's. When you are alone or in a very small group, decrease the pace to 74/75 and save energy for the last kilometers. If the gap is huge, you can reduce to 70 or so, in order to keep your helper with some strength the longest possible.
Attacking can be an option is your acceleration is good enough and your energy is OK to get to the top of the mountain. Attack for a second or two to get out and then pace with the dot to keep that distance.
My personal rule is that you can dot 74/75 alone the last 5/6 kilometers of a hard mountain with a little bit less than half yellow bar and get to the last kilometer with the perfect energy to sprint to the line. If the climb is so long (20+ kms), you shouldn't pace the whole climb or you will get exhausted sonner than expected. Stay in group and let your other riders relay in front if you want to set pace.
If you are not the best climber or you don't feel that confident, try to stay in group as much as you can. Positioning is important in order to reduce your options of being caught off guard. If other climbers attack, you can try to follow with dot 75/76/77, but always looking at your energy. I don't recommend you to follow with dot 78+, because even if you get to the front group, your energy maybe won't last until the top. The key is getting to the last kilometer with some energy left. If your rider spends all his yellow and red bar, he will lose in the end a huge amount of time.
It's difficult to win if there are several stronger climbers in the field, and maybe is a better option to try another kind of strategy (attacking from far away or looking for a breakaway).
Tips Before Starting
*If one of your bar is fully empty, your other bar goes empty in 15 seconds. SO be careful about that!
1.As the 1st tip said, we need to have the highest possible energy before the last climb, in order to do that, protect your leader with an average rider from the start. If the average riders energy gone away pick another one. (Red Bar and Yellow Bar)
2.Stay in front. In the start of the race, come to the front of the peloton with 2-3 team-mates to avoid dropping early-race.
3.Resources. You will need water in every kilometer, check everyone's water and send guy to fetch some bottles while teams average water is 0.5/2.0 left. Don't send guy to fetch some water bottles while climbing or gioing cobblestones! His energy will drop while trying to go the front. Don't forget to use your energy gel, you can do it 4/3 km's before finish or while your rider's energy is really low.
4.Attacking time. In PCM It doesn't work to attack at the start of the climb. If you want to attack strong, you must have your 2nd best rider protecting your leader and put your rider to free effort on the dot near 70-80. After your protecter's energy is gone, you will make a small margain and then you are ready to go!.
5.Following Attacks. In PCM Following Attacks is very important as you attack and save energy at the same time. Always check what the other teams doing and if someone attacks before you attack, you must follow him by rightclicking and giving Follow Attack command to the rider you want to follow. But watch out, if you couldn't catch the attacker at the first sight, you may not catch him later.
6.Sprints. If you are 3-4 rider in the last kilometer, you need to sprint. Firstly, check your energy. If you energy is very low, try to attack more late.
7.Understanding other riders. In PCM there are some clues about how the other team's rider's energy are. For example, if a rider is moving his body and his head left to right without stopping, that means that rider's energy is empty.
Is it helping?
Please tell me
Have fun.
I'm ready to answer more of your questions

Hi mate just a little tip that might help you alot Its all about effort and heart rate you want to use as little effort to keep your heart rate nice and calm cause once your heart rate goes thru the roof your going to be under alot of pressure .So think of your heart rate as your speed meter here is a table i made to give you example of how i do it .
So start the race with dot effort 15 your heart rate will be like 99 watch the pelotons heart rate will give you an idea of what dot effort you need to be at, see if the pelotons average heart rate of say 150 then you relies there going at around 65 to 70 effort it works trust me .
p.s its great when you see all the other riders heart rate going off there heads and yours is just fine and your racing side by side

might also be worth saying that a 'dot' is referred to as a fixed effort, because newbies won't understand what that means (think it's the bottom row, 2nd from left)

I think this is true if you run out of yellow (and maybe green). But I doubt that running out of red makes the yellow bar to go empty in that little time

I didn't know that you could see the heart rate of other riders; how do you do this?

pretty easy cause there your team mates so you would think it goes for the other riders as well
