192 riders have lined up for the 2015 East Midlands Cicle Classic. It's quite cloudy, but luckily for the riders rain seems unlikely.
It takes a while to form a break today, but in the cobbled area we have a break. It consists of no less than 18 riders: Isaychev, Serry, Hugentobler, Janorschke, Timofeev, Appollonio, Feiereisen, Dzamastagic, Goddaert, Lietaer, Lund, Scully, Kastrantas, Ahlstrand, Sandakelum and Hepburn. The group is decimated sometimes as well, with Hepburn seemingly the weakest.
With about 100km to go the break, which had been cut to 14, is joined by Walsleben and Cominelli.
While Tsatevich is the next to attack with 90km to go, several sprinters have been dropped already. Main name is Aberasturi.
The break is torn apart even further, but with 65km to go the favourites themselves take matters into their own hands. Burghardt, Bewley and Franzoi decide to set off. The others remain close though.
Nevertheless, the group continues and, after being joined by Cancellara, Blythe and surprisingly Van Keirsbulck, quickly gain a minute on the pack. That said, there are still 4 riders ahead of them, by almost 2 minutes.
With 44km to go, the two front groups merge. A duo of Gusev and Sénéchal is 44s behind them, with the pack, which has been decimated to 22 riders, another 20s further.
Gusev and Sénéchal manage to make the jump to the front, as well as Zepuntke.
With 30km to go the group has increased to 19 riders. The pace in front had dropped a lot. The names of the riders are: Cancellara, Cominelli Burghardt Bewley Blythe Zepuntke Sénéchal Kamyshev Nolf Franzoi Teunissen Gusev Gaudin Kristoff Vanbilsen Kluge Van Keirsbulck Walsleben Isaychev
The pace drops even further afterwards. Another 14 riders manage to rejoin.
At the next cobbles we get attacks though. Bewley, Cancellara, Burghardt, Kluge, Blythe and Franzoi all attack from the pack. Bewley and Cancellara immediately push on.
Just before the final cobbled section, 10km from the line, Bewley decides to attack again. Cancellara can't follow, but keeps the gap very small. Behind them, all others are caught by a pack, which has shrunk to 26 riders again.
While Cancellara catches up again, Gusev goes again. He gets away on his own, and looks safe for third unless he collapses.
Cancellara and Bewley are preparing for a sprint-a-deux, and surprisingly it's Gusev appearing from the back. Could he make a stunt?
The battle for 4th seems likely to be decided by a sprint of a pack of 18 riders.
Cancellara fails to get rid of the lead. He therefore tries to surprise Bewley. The New Zealander doesn't let the wheel go. Gusev is too far now.
With 1km to go Bewley decides to go. Cancellara does not stand a chance.
In the battle for 4th Blythe and Sinkeldam seem the strongest.
Up front it's Bewley who takes the win! Cancellara comes 2nd.
Gusev hardly has trouble hanging on for third.
An unleashed Sinkeldam easily wins the sprint for 4th, ahead of Kristoff. Burghardt and Blythe totally collapsed. The Brit even finishes outside of the top10.

Many DNFs. I can't be bothered to list them all, that's way too much useless work.
