Next up for the PT peloton is the East Midlands Cicle Classic. This race was first put on the calendar in 2010, as a CT race. Since 2012 it has been part of the ProTour already.
The profile indicates this race is not exactly an easy race. Many cobbled sections should mark the unfolding of this race. However, the last time this race ended in a solo win was in 2011, when it was still CT. The last two years both had sprints of at least thirty riders, with last year having over 70 riders in the main group at the finish.
However, the cobbled sections are in a significantly worse state than last year and may therefore be a lot more selective.
The favourites therefore are the usual suspects on the cobbles:
| | CB | SPR | | Burghardt | 84 | 69 | | Bewley | 83 | 83 | | Cancellara | 82 | 70 | | Blythe | 82 | 76 | | Sibilla | 81 | 66 | | Zepuntke | 81 | 72 | | Franzoi | 80 | 56 | | Senechal | 80 | 67 | | Nolf | 80 | 63 | | Kamyshev | 80 | 64 |
The present sprinters are
| | SPR | CB | | Bewley | 83 | 83 | | Kristoff | 81 | 78 | | Ahlstrand | 81 | 66 | | Rowe | 79 | 75 | | Petit | 79 | 72 | | Appollonio | 79 | 64 | | Aberasturi | 79 | 57 |

Top-5 would be great, but given the latest results here, I see another sprint from a group. Burghardt will struggle then.
With TTs less predictable (too bad it's our main focus ...), we surely need Burghardt to deliver in those classics now. Please!

Looking a lot forward to this one!
Kristoff was nowhere to be seen in Het Volk, hopeully that wasn't a sign of what's to come this cobble season, and he can produce something hear. A top 10 would be great, but I suspect he needs some luck, One way to do it could be that his group goes slowly after the biggest favourites have gotten a gap. That way he could be able to hang on and sprint for a nice placing.
Bewley is obviously the man to beat, eventhough Burghardt has the best cobble stat. Hopefully the German is up for it this season, for me he's the only one who can challenge Bewley. |

When I applied for this Wildcard I totally overlooked the clash with Dwars Door. Checked the race profile threads of each PT classic for HC/C1 Clashes but somehow I did not found this one. Would not have been one of my first picks if I knew about it. Sorry if anyone really wanted to get this one and missed out ...
In the end I decided to split my forces. Flaksis and Dakteris are here with the hope of a mid stage attack while the rest is in Vlaanderen to support Boonen. Propably this decision will hurt in both classics but we'll see.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

A win here would be absolutely superb. Bewley won here in 2013 & 2014, so it would be fantastic to be able to complete a hattrick.

Expectations set to zero, but if Ahlstrand somehow hangs on in a group that ends in a sprint he should be up there |

I don't know why but I think Bewley won't win. |

Bewley *should* win, but given this years AI, I wouldn't put it past a break to win

Bewley, surely. I'm hoping Senechal can deliver on our home turf but who knows with this AI. Just as long as it's not like Het Volk.

Our first real cobbled PT race (OHV was just a mess) and i hope at least for two in the top15 with our new duo of Sibilla and Nolf. Hopefully game can recognize two leaders. Top10 for both and top5 for one of them would be great.
Bewley should win this easily.

Let's hope some of my medium cobblers can pull of something.

Will be really interesting to follow this after Het Volk, hopefully Zepuntke can follow up his strong (lucky) result from there.
As everyone says, Bewley should win this

Hoping for a decent result. The hills might kill Franzoi tho.

Yeah it is time for Fab to kick into gear.
I would cheer for a Burgerman win, in fact anything but Bewbastard!

Too less from Burghardt. Not too impressed by his results on the cobbles so far. We keep losing points in races that suited us.
Bewley then. Congrats Roman. Cancellara giving him a fight, Gusev strong. Hoping for Burghardt to finally make a selection in the next races. If he keeps finishing in the first bigger group, he will always suck.

Well a 10th. I suppose thats why I signed him, I never expected wins anyway. When it came down to a sprint I knew Franzoi wouldn't take that 4th place, he sucks at sprinting.
