Chrono des Herbiers
Selwink
Welcome to the start of the Chrono. The weather is a typical Northern French autumn, except that it's not raining and it's not cold and it's not storming.

First outsider to set off is Ukrainian champion pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/met.png Zmorka. With a time of 1h03m19 he is by far the fastest so far. He's even over a minute faster than anyone who started ahead of him.

The first rider who should be significantly better is pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ozc.png Ford. He is far from strong enough today though. He loses a whopping 1m26 to Zmorka, placing him provisional 7th.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/met.png Ignatiev probably won't beat last year's result. He sets a provisional second, 29 seconds behind Zmorka, who has still managed to sustain his lead so far. Currently a 1-2 for Metinvest though.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/bec.png Sergent immediately manages to remove the 1-2. However, he is still six, just six, seconds slower than Zmorka. The Ukrainian champion can now be sure of at least 7th though.
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/ChHerbiers/chr-4.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/bac.png Yatsevich is the next of the Russians who fails to beat Zmorka. He loses over a minute and comes in 11th provisionally. Yatsevich and Kami can't be happy with that.
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/ChHerbiers/chr-5.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/vsa.png Kittel fails to take over the lead as well. He comes in 5th provisionally, over 50 seconds down on Zmorka.
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/ChHerbiers/chr-6.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ozc.png Durbridge is the next in line of failure. 4th provisionally, 42 seconds down on Zmorka, whose ass must be burning from the hot seat by now.
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/ChHerbiers/chr-7.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/rbh.png Cancellara is plain rubbish for what we're used of him. Provisional 12th, 58 seconds down on Zmorka, who is already sure of a podium now.
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/ChHerbiers/chr-8.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ven.png Phinney is not even close to showing why he's world champion. He sets a provisional 16th (!), 1m23 down on Zmorka. Only one rider left now.
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/ChHerbiers/chr-9.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/fes.png Coppel is the final one who fails to beat Zmorka. Coming 14th, over a minute down is surely not what the Frenchman expected.

That means we have a very surprising winner. Marlen Zmorka probably didn't even see this coming himself, but he can celebrate this with his team. Two on the podium should mean a large point haul for Metinvest.
