Pro Cyclist mode - Favourite rider type?
vladiator
Hi everyone

It appears that everyone is enjoying the Pro Cyclist mode at the moment. What a great addition!

I was wondering which cyclist type have people been playing and which type you enjoyed the most? I wanted to create a poll but not sure how to do it here!

I started with a stage racer and won all three GTs (and a bunch of lesser races) by the time I was 25 y.o. Since the game was becoming less of a challenge, I decided to re-start as a sprinter. Now I am in my third year with SPR skill at 83. Although I am only at level 14, I just won the World Championship. However, I have quite low skills at non-sprinter categories, which makes me rather useless on any non-flat stages.

So, currently I am thinking about creating a rider which would be able to challenge for classic day races. Can anyone suggest whether it is better to start as a north classics specialist or a puncher if I want to be good at both cobbled and non-cobbled races?

I have been only playing for a fighter that is great on flats. This was quite fun as there are normally not too many of these in the game and if there are, they end up working for others a lot. The fact that none other stat than FL is above 77 for me in 3rd season means I have to attack often at clever places to contest in the biggest races. I have enjoyed it a lot, in particular winning Omloop with 68 cobble stat was great and unexpected.

To your question, I think you have higher chance to get better stat limits if you start as a cobbled specialist.

Sounds like some fun racing togo!

I didn't know that there are different stat limits. Is there any table which would show what they are for different types of riders?

That ainĀ“t possible, as every career, regardless of the riders type, has another limits at stats. Example:

1st career, climber, 19yo: Climbing limit: 84, Hill limit: 79
2nd career, climber, 19yo: Climbing limit: 84, Hill limit: 82
3rd career, climber 19yo: Climbing limit: 82, Hill limit: 80
