A clear blue sky for the 158 riders starting today. Let’s hope it stays this way for the remainder of the stage.

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/2015-06-08_00006_zpstyfowul7.jpg

Five men attacked early on in the stage. They were pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ino.png Choe, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ioc.png Sweeting, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/lpu.png Vanoverberghe, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/gat.png Weiss and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/bbk.png Papok.

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/2015-06-08_00007_zpsh9cyd1ok.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/tt1.png Team Type 1 and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sva.png Strava set the pace at the front of the pack. They let the break have a maximum eight minutes for the race.

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/2015-06-08_00008_zpsvfd5vcj4.jpg

The first attacks started very, very early. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/gen.png Malacarne decided to launch his attack with 110 km left. The break was 5’46 at this point.

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/2015-06-08_00010_zpsvtcofdy6.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/fxg.png De Vocht and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/chi.png Rathe also attatcked early. With 87km they launched from the bunch. The peleton didn’t respond to either of the attacks.

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/2015-06-08_00012_zpsis45eouw.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/gen.png Malacarne, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/fxg.png De Vocht and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/chi.png Rathe all joined the break with ease. By the time all three had joined there was 70 km left and the break had turned into an eight man group.

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/2015-06-08_00014_zps718tu0nz.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cdb.png Carlsberg - Danske Bank and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cpl.png Compal-Merida whipped up the pace with 69km left. They brought the gap down to just over three minutes.

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/2015-06-08_00016_zps0mixep09.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ino.png Choe was dropped from the break with 62km left. He joined the peleton. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ioc.png Sweeting and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/gat.png Weiss were also dropped from the break.

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/2015-06-08_00017_zps7jc97ty8.jpg

Twenty kilometers later pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cdb.png De Maar and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/aks.png Lindeman attacked. They instantly gained half a minute. For the duo the break was a minute away.

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/2015-06-08_00019_zpsdeaajc6b.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cdb.png De Maar and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/aks.png Lindeman took no time to chase down and join the break.

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/2015-06-08_00018_zps8ygay4tm.jpg

Meanwhile an elite eight man group was formed behind. That group contained pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sva.png Langeveld, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cpl.png Kozontchuk, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ioc.png Aulas, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/fxg.png Steegmans, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/nns.png Mørkøv, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cdb.png Østergaard, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/tt1.png Wynants and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/lpu.png Joseph.

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/2015-06-08_00022_zpsl1vwemzd.jpg

The two groups merged with 33km left to form a large fifteen man group containing pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/lpu.png Vanoverberghe, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/bbk.png Papok, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sva.png Langeveld, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cpl.png Kozontchuk, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ioc.png Aulas, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/fxg.png Steegmans, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/nns.png Mørkøv, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cdb.png Østergaard, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/tt1.png Wynants, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/lpu.png Joseph, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cdb.png De Maar, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/aks.png Lindeman, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/gen.png Malacarne, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/fxg.png De Vocht and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/chi.png Rathe. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/bbk.png Polanc joined shortly after. The peleton was five minutes behind at this point.

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/2015-06-08_00024_zpsec5ljol1.jpg

With 23km left pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sva.png Langeveld attacked from the fifteen man group. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cpl.png Kozontchuk was able to follow pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sva.png Langeveld’s accelaration. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cdb.png De Maar was able to bridge up to the group a kilometre later.

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/2015-06-08_00026_zpsr6tl9p7w.jpg

Going into the last lap of the race (19km left) pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sva.png Langeveld, put in another accelaration this time to drop pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cpl.png Kozontchuk and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cdb.png De Maar. The latter attempted to follow but couldn’t. But he did create seperation between himself and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cpl.png Kozontchuk. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cdb.png De Maar was sixteen seconds behind pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sva.png Langeveld and twenty eight seconds in front of pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cpl.png Kozontchuk.

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/2015-06-08_00028_zpssfiqsbxj.jpg

The time gaps seemed to stand still for the remainder. With five kilometers the gap between pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cdb.png De Maar and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sva.png Langeveld was twenty seconds. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cpl.png Kozontchuk had fallen a minute and a half behind but was still third on the road.

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/2015-06-08_00029_zpsr9irmm6x.jpg

Going under the red kite the gap had stayed at twenty seconds.

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/2015-06-08_00030_zpsdwoevxiu.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sva.png Langeveld takes a stunning win! pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cdb.png De Maar takes a solid second. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cpl.png Kozontchuk finished third followed by pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/lpu.png Joseph and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cdb.png Østergaard.
