Another chance for the sprinters today. This time the yellow jersey of Coppel is in bigger danger as the top sprinters are just a bit behind him in the GC.

A group of 10 was in the attack early. They weren`t allowed to really create a gap and so Pokerstars and Venchi had everything under control when catching them again and no other riders decided to attack as we had very fast first 80 kilometers. So no break at the moment.
Notable though that one of those early 10 attackers was Luke Durbridge, who also won 4 seconds in the first sprint moving 2s behind Coppel in the GC.

This also makes the 2nd sprint far more interesting than usually and we see lots of sprinters going for those. The first three though are basically the smaller ones while Mohs and Lo Cicero apparently saved some energy for the finish by only taking 5th and 6th here. Van Stayen didn`t even sprint here.

While the Cat.4 today rewards the first KoM points of the whole race, it was quite disappointing to see no rider really going for it. Possibly as well that no team wanted to attack here as Quickstep and Pokerstars did all the work so far. So it`s basically the rider, who was in front at this point.

With 40km to go finally we see a new attack. It`s pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/mei.png Kwok, who is mainly a time trialist and is an excellent rider for those late moves. Surely something he enjoys to do a couple of times a season.
They allow him up to 90s actually but always have him under control it seems.

He did fight until the 5km banner though. There he gave up and lets the sprinter trains pass.
Quickstep looking the strongest today with Venchi and Pokerstars a bit behind. But yesterday has shown that the final leadout Stauff is strongest for the team in green.

Pokerstars struggles. Main reason for this is yesterday`s winner Mohs, who was a bit too far behind and not with his train. So they had to wait a bit while the other two trains are looking similar strong here.

Again a big fail by Good Energy. Guarnieri again not looking interested to fight for a result today...

Lo Cicero decides again to make some weird move. Just like yesterday he does seem to not trust his leadout enough as he leaves them early to move behind Van Stayen. Honestly not the worst wheel neither.
He though proves to be more experienced than Maksimov, who is losing the wheel and has to stay behind the Italian champ now fighting with Tzortzakis for this spot.
Napolitano and Goss still in the mix but in this chaos they are in the middle of the road with almost no room left as Pokerstars and a couple of riders is coming to the front as well now. Kennaugh might look the best as he is already behind Maksimov.

Maksimov has lost the fight against Tzortzakis for Lo Cicero`s wheel.
Stauff also in the wind. But behind him it`s Napolitano and Petit still ahead of Mohs, who clearly struggles today.

Van Avermaet lost some speed (again) and Lo Cicero knows that he has to go. This seems to surprise Van Stayen a bit, who is passed by the Italian and Tzortzakis as well.
Stauff seems to go on his own now as Mohs is 3 bike lengths behind him only.
Maksimov, Goss, Petit all with good speed. But they have been in the wind for some time already.

Lo Cicero struggles. He went too early as wind is coming from the front. Van Stayen takes profit by going into the lead.
Also Mohs is back. The German also was moving up forward in the slipstream, which helps him now. Just behind him his team mate Lay, who also has some speed.

But it`s an easy win for Van Stayen. Well done by him as he did wait long enough behind Van Avermaet.
Mohs in 2nd today, which is far more than he could have had expected after a horrible sprint preperation by him. Actually he is taking the GC lead as well now ahead of Van Stayen there.

3rd is a huge surprise. Lay, who did work earlier eventhough Stauff passed him early, moved up in Mohs` slipstream to take 3rd.

Holloway as 4th also moved forward behind Goss, Lo Cicero down to 5th in the end.
