Does anyone else have their riders lose their energy a lot quicker than last years PCM 14?
I played a one off stage, as Team Sky, and packed the team full of climbers...I kept them all 'maintaining position' in the peloton but they all had their red and yellow energy bars empty after only doing 5km of the final climb and still 10km left to go.
They did not set the pace, just followed someone else by maintaining position the whole time. Ended up losing quite a few minutes to guys with similar stats.
Also tried some flat stages, half of the yellow and red bars are already used up before last couple of km (when playing with best sprinters) no matter how much energy I try to preserve.
Do I remember something similar when they first released PCM 14 last year but they later fixed with a patch? I can't remember |

I also have that feeling, especially with the yellow bar, which empties a lot quicker than last year. Does someone know why or how to avoid this? |

if you put your whole team in maintain position you must put there effort rate up to a rate that they wont use alot of energy if you say for example put 1 player on maintain position and set his rate to say 70 then he wont use alot of energy at first he will maintain position and relax when the other riders relax and will use a bit of energy to stay in position but if you say put his rate at 70 and dont change it when the race starts to heat up you will use alot of energy to maintain position ,You can even put your rider to 99% effort and maintain position .. here is a eg..
Its all about effort and heart rate you want to use as little effort to keep your heart rate nice and calm cause once your heart rate goes thru the roof your going to be under alot of pressure .So think of your heart rate as your speed meter here is a table i made to give you example of how i do it .
Heart rate + Dot Effort = the little dot in your riders control panel
99 heart ,, dot speed 15
105 heart ,,dot speed 20-25
110 heart,, dot speed 25 -30
120 heart,, dot speed 35-40
130 heart,, dot speed 47-53
140 heart,, dot speed 60
160 heart,, dot speed 75
166 heart,, dot speed 80
180+heart dot speed 90
So start the race with dot effort 15 your heart rate will be like 99 watch the pelotons heart rate(your team mates heart rate) will give you an idea of what dot effort you need to be at, see if the pelotons(your team mates) average heart rate is say 150 then you relies there going at around 65 to 70 effort it works trust me .

The trouble with maintain position is that if they get held up behind someone and lag back, theyll speed up and try to get back in position, using tons of energy. Its better to use them on all on dot and keep them near the front on climbs. And put riders on protect too. |

I don't like the dot. It is very time consuming and fiddly to correctly set the heart rate of all my riders. I think it is OK for the be-a-pro mode but not for the management mode. Or did you ever see the DS at the TdF tell the riders at which heart rate they should ride up the hill?
Why can't this game control my riders like it controls the AI riders? Of course I cannot prove it but I am sure the AI riders don't lose energy as fast as my riders. |

I know this was coming.
Like I said, it is OK for the be-a-pro mode but not when playing as DS. |

Yeah, for me it depends on the type of rider.
Say you are managing Tinkov and you have Basso and Contador.
I'd use the dot for Basso (since in real life he is a diesel rider) but work with accelerations and 'stay here' for Contador, since that's his style.
Same goes for Be a Pro. I like to adjust way of riding towards the type of rider. I had a GC rider, TT type, so always dotting. But now playing with a puncher, so more staying and acceleration, waiting, accelerating... |
