Seems to be the opposite of Be a Pro mode. I've got a fair few older riders declining insanely fast, but in mid May I only have 1 rider who has made an improvement, and that's with a squad full of younger, high potential riders.
A shame they've removed the slide; I know it's a new system but there must be a variable somewhere in the process they could tweak to adjust the speed on this.

Have you assigned them the right kind of trainers?
And does the same happen with most riders from other teams too or only yours?
Yep, all set to their preferred style. Haven't been checking other teams out but non of the key guys seem to have shifted. I've no problem with top riders moving very slowly, but I sort of expect riders with high potential in their early 20s to make strides - it's one of the key 'page turner' reasons to stick playing a game.
I have now tried some thing, but at the end nothing really works. First I started with Sky and as they have enough money I signed 6 of the best trainers and picked the best one for each rider. But e.g Froome lost his first Mountain point in the first week .Other riders did so in the following month, too . Almost everyone older than 26/27. So I changed for example Kennaughs potential to 7 and his retirement age to 37, signed an exclusive coach (of course the best one and the type of coach he wants) and got him a really good race program so that he was really satisfied. After 8 month the same thing again.
So please tell me how to train riders older than 26!
