Yesterdays cobbled stage saw a huge selection. Though the puncheurs proved to be the dominant GC riders here by fighting for every second. Except for Langeveld and De Maar, all other riders are more or less pure puncheurs. So todays stage will have to bring the decision.

6 breakaway riders today:

No GC danger at all. So surely riders that might hope for a stage win today.

Behind Netia is doing the pace for Der, who needs to gain quite some time today. Also Generali for Molard is seen in the front.

Early sprints:

Indosat for race leader Kruopis more and more took over the control. He surely was one of the most consistent riders here but today will be his most crucial one as his puncheur skills are clearly below others and the next riders are very, very close.

With 46km we see first two attacks. No GC attacks though as both riders lost some time already. But decent stage riders:
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/fxg.png Daspuntsag
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sod.png Gougeard
Also Dabrowski and Antomarchi gave it a try but Indosat quickly accelerated and caught all of them.
2'40 left for the break.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/CT/Benelux/mg2015_benelux_05_PCM0457.jpg

All 7 team mates work for Kruopis here. Excellent team work today. Can Kruopis overperform?

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/CT/Benelux/mg2015_benelux_05_PCM0461.jpg

Then a couple of crashes unfortunately. And apparently one or more GC riders involved...
It`s basically the whole In-n-Out team behind. What did happen?
Delage 10., Le Montagner 7. and Offredo 13. all involved in the same crash.
Also Strava`s Einsle as 12th in the GC.
All In-n-Out riders but Gaimon slow down and will try to bring them back with 35km to go.
Another rider who crashed was Fabio Sabatini. The Italian though got injured and had to abandon!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/CT/Benelux/mg2015_benelux_05_PCM0470.jpg

Huge attack by Team Indosat! Over the Cat.3 they accelerated and created a massive selection. Only 6 riders in this first group and 2 teams only!
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ino.png Kruopis
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ino.png Uchima
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ino.png Banihammad
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ino.png Nieve
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/gen.png Molard
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/gen.png Malacarne

A bit behind a group of 7 including Gaimon, Alafaci, Der, Rocchetti, Boaro, Manulang and Moreno Hernandez. Not helping at all that two more Indosat riders in this group!

Handley, Bazhkou and Pancake a bit behind those ahead of the 95 rider peloton remaining all others where Pfingsten, Vastaranta and De Maar are working now.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/CT/Benelux/mg2015_benelux_05_PCM0488.jpg

While De Naval mainly did caught all riders up to the Gaimon group, the Kruopis group is still a bit ahead.
37s for them with 20km to go and another 1'13 for the breakaway.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/CT/Benelux/mg2015_benelux_05_PCM0491.jpg

Gaimon and Masuda do use the penultimate Cat.4 trying to jump to the race leader though.
Cat. 4
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/lpu.png Joseph5
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/act.png Flückiger3
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/aks.png Wilman1

Also Vastaranta, Gougeard, De Maar, Kuboki, Langeveld accelerate now and in the end they are back together in a big pack still behind Kruopis.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/CT/Benelux/mg2015_benelux_05_PCM0500.jpg

Next to Indosat it`s no surprise that Generali is also working here to avoid the others coming back. Though it`s quite hard as on the last Cat.4 several riders seem to be able to make it:
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cdb.png De Maar
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/dek.png Vastaranta
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ioc.png Gaimon
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/nns.png Der
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/act.png Kuboki
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sva.png Langeveld
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sva.png Favilli
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/chi.png Kinney

Cat. 4
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/aks.png Wilman5
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sva.png Tennant3
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/act.png Flückiger1

Biggest name far behind is Delage. As 10th he will lose a lot as he seems a bit injured being almost 2min behind. Also the other crash victims Offredo, Le Montagner and Einsle even further back. Bad luck for those.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/CT/Benelux/mg2015_benelux_05_PCM0514.jpg

Final climb and the breakaway still a bit ahead. De Maar and Molard have easily passed the Indosat riders and attack again with 1,7km to go.
A few meters behind it`s Vastaranta next to Kruopis and just ahead of Kuboki and Langeveld. Kinney and Gaimon struggle a bit at the end of this 13 rider group. Probably yesterdays effort was a bit too much for them to recover.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/CT/Benelux/mg2015_benelux_05_PCM0519.jpg

Strong acceleration by the 2 recent attackers. Within 800m they have reached the breakaway and are going for the stage win now. Or even the GC as Kruopis struggles on this climb.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/CT/Benelux/mg2015_benelux_05_PCM0523.jpg

500m left and the duo has a nice gap.
Favilli looks strongest of the rest going into the lead there next to the former breakaway riders. Kruopis and Vastaranta just behind then.
Kinney with a small gap. Then another gap to Langeveld, Der, Gaimon, Kuboki etc.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/CT/Benelux/mg2015_benelux_05_PCM0531.jpg

De Maar surely the strongest here. As allrounder he obviously recovered the best after the cobbled hell and never allowed Molard to pass him.
Now it`s about counting every second in the GC fight.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/CT/Benelux/mg2015_benelux_05_PCM0533.jpg
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/CT/Benelux/mg2015_benelux_05_PCM0535.jpg

Favilli next with a 26s gap. And another 14s to the race leader. Kruopis comes in together with Vastaranta, Wilman, Flückiger, Tennant, Kinney and Nieve.
And another 28s to Langeveld, Der, Gaimon, Uchima and Joseph.

With Kuboki coming in 12s behind those together with Malacarne those two lost a bit more today.

GC wise this means some changes. New raceleader easily is De Maar. But also Molard is able to move up to 2nd with this performance.
Favilli with the bonus seconds goes into 3rd.
Kruopis still on a good 4th, though he must be a bit disappointed. Though with a win tomorrow he might be able to jump into 2nd.

Vastaranta, Langeveld, Kinney, Kuboki, Gaimon and Verhelst to complete teh top10. So the fight for Gaimon yesterday did work in the end. Even though all other In-n-Out riders obviously lost their positions with todays crashes.
Sweeting in 13th and Delage in 14th though at least something.
