Why not an AI in the game that generates new stages before every season?

Racing the same stages every single season gets boring after... well, already during the second season!!! I know that one is supposed to be able to download some custom-made stages/race-profiles, but not everyone is as skilled or knowledgeable about how to do that, and even if one does know how, it will still be a bother and unncessary trouble that consumes lots of time that could and should instead have been spent on actually playing the game.
It should be possible for the game Developer to come up with a good AI in the game that generated new random/custom stages for all relevant races every single season. Obviously, 1-day Classics would remain the same, but all stage-races should come with new stages every season. How hard can it be for these guys to do that?
It is this lack of variation that kills my enthusiasm every time. I might enjoy the first 2 Seasons very much, but then in the third I'll be tired of tweaking and editing and fixing and changing stages all the time in an attempt to get variation, and so I abandon the game.. :/
What do you guys think?

It would be a serious waste of time to add new stages instead of improving the AI itself of the game, especially if the community makes stages.
What did help was that they provided GT stages of 2010-2013 last year, and I do think it was a bit pointless not to add that with the game

Well, creating new stages takes hours per stage!
If you want to have like 5 variants for every race, Cyanide needs a 1000 stagemakers. And yeah they don't exactly have the budget for that

Can't they just convert previous editions' variants of the race? |

Downloading and installing, say the PCM.Daily Expansion Pack DB, takes no time at all. It adds litteraly hundreds of new stages to play with. It takes minimal effort as the installer handles the key bits and pieces.
Certainly much easier and less time consuming than Cyanide making a whole giant AI

You make it sound much easier than it is. Even if an algorithm was created with the purpose of generating new stages, it would take forever to run it. The pathfinding in a map of the real world would kill your PC for so many stages. Also, how should it determine the start and end of each stage?
The idea is nice, and it would make the game more enjoyable, but it is definitely not easy to make a usable algorithm to do it.

I'd also recommend to download Cyanide variants, and you're good to go =) |

As i said, we aren't all as knowledegabe or as updated... I certainly haven't come across any DB that contains hundreds of stages. I have picked up some minor DB packs in the past which have made for a LITTLE variation, but not that much, and if memory serves I had to do all that manually, except once where the game did indeed pick stages from "pool 1" the one year and from "pool 2" the next. Though when there's only 2 sets of stages for a race to pick from the Third and fifth season will be just like the first and the fourth and sixth will just like the second. |

You're downloading the wrong DBs then
The PCMdaily Expansion Pack + Variant Pack had me choose out of 12 TdF variants, for instance.
Of course it will not be lots for the smaller races, after all these stages have to be made by the community, and are a time-consuming project.

330 new and replaced variants
Many variants for WorldTour races, World Cups and national championships (For GT's and WC's there's enough for a brand new route each year for like 10 years)
An extended U23 calendar with 18 new races
You click download, really simple to do.
You run the installer, really simple to do.
It will tell you what to do or you can ask if you get stuck or read the many comments of people who already asked for help. 19967 people have managed this i think you can too.
Note: Obviously not for PCM15 this DB, but wait a few months and we here at Daily should be getting something similar out there.

also be sure to get V2 too if you get that!
I personally love to download stages like Margh's, etc . Or those who even creat non-existing races like Tour of Japan, etc. I even go on to add them to the calendar!
I'm one of those weird ones who cares more about variants in the small races than the big tours (where I just place 2 or 3 and then I'm fine)
Here's a lot of good stuff:

The Tour of Japan does exist though
Nobody else than everyone's favourite Iranian Mirsamad Poorseyedigoulakhour won it this year.

Alright. I'll look for one like this for PCM 15. Yeah, sure, if 20000 other ppl can do it, then i can too. Like I said, i have installed a few in the past, but not so many. |

LOL sorry I obviously meant "races that do not exist in the game"
I was specifically praising those who go on to create them based on the real stages!

They do, I also posted the link to them.
A good question would be "why do they not leave them in the game already" ?
Personally, I'm not sure. I wonder if it has to do with licenses, or they do not want to add extra MBs.

Let's say I install stages from seperate downloads (2 or more), will the game still automatically use the stages from all said downloads from season to season or will the files overrun each other? |

The variants would all be used(although of course it could happen that 1 variant is in both downloads, that could cause files to be overwritten of course).

the filename is the most important thing.
Let's make an example:
you downloaded the alternatives world championships through the variants pack.
Now, in PCM14, in the stages folder, you already have
world_2014.cds
world_2014.zces
now what you need to do, is to make sure that the stages that you have downloaded, from anywhere, have the same name structure.
so, for example
world_2013.cds
world_2013.zces
world_2012.cds
world_2012.zces
and so on. Just leave the files in the folders named like that and you're good to go!
A good way to check if things are working - or at least that's how I do it, is to go in single player, then do not go into career mode but in single stage (or race, depending on what you're searching), and use the arrows on the top right corner to check if the stage profile appears. It should.
This is also why, as I said, I don't like .exe downloads too much and I prefer the variants or stage packs. It's because I know what files are being overwritten.

Alright, good. Thanks for replies. Though I stand firm on what I said originally; that they should aim to make an AI capable of creating nw stages on its own. Always strive towards improvement and all that. But it's a matter of opinion |

So filenames has to be the same except for the Year. Seems logical.
So if I had files called...
world_2001
world_2007
world_2011
world_2013
it would use every single one of them automatically for 4 years, and then it would start anew, yes. |
