New Manager
Predictor-Lotto as the team is now called has decided to change the manager for the new season. In a surprising move for many they chose to hire the swede Alexander Löfgren. He's earlier been known to only stay at teams during short terms. The season presentation will follow shortly.
Predictor-Lotto presented there manager a few days ago and now it's time for the goals for the riders and team this season.
Robbie McEwen
The 34 year old aussie has had a long and successful career so far with twice being Australian Road Race champion ( 2002, 2005 ) and three time winner of the green sprinter's jersey in Tour de France ( 2002, 2004, 2006 ), were he also gathered eleven stage wins so far. He also have a number of stage wins in Giro d'Italia and can add a lot of smaller race wins to that as well.
This year he will be focused on winning the Tour de France points jersey for a 4th time and also try and win "la primavera" for the first time. In the fall season he will probably try and take the points jersey in Vuelta Espana for the first time as well.
Robbie from the tour in 2006, we are hoping for a similar sight this year.
Cadel Evans
30 year old Cadel Evans is also an aussie. He changed to the Lotto team in 2005 and achived 8th place on Tour de France later that year. Last year he won Tour de Romandie and also managed a 5th place in Tour de France. This year he is hoping to improve that place and finish on the podium in Paris. He will also make an effort to defend his title in Romandie.
Leif Hoste
THe Belgian cyclist Leif Hoste is this years main classic rider for Lotto. He is three time runner up in Ronde van Vlaanderen. He also finished 2nd in last years Paris-Roubaix before he was disqualified. This year he wants revenge and will try and win both Ronde van Vlaanderen and Paris-Roubaix. After that he will have a free role in Tour de France and the fall classics.
Team Goals
The big goals this season is to help our three leaders to reach there goals. Therefore Tour de France and the spring classics will play a big part. Other things we look forward to is the ardennes classics and Giro d'Italia.
Tour de France
Ronde van Vlaanderen
Paris-Roubaix
Giro d'Italia
Vuelta Espana
Tour de Belgium
Eneco Tour
January Preview
FIrst month of the season and we are participating in three races. Evans and McEwen are going down under to try and win the Australian Road Race title. After that Evans is coming back to Europe while Robbie takes a team with him to Tour Down Under were we are aiming for 2 stage wins and the GC. The third and last race is Tour de Qatar with the same leader, Robbie, and the hope there is 3 stage wins and the GC. |

Thanks
It's the Stanosbase 2007 2.0 and hard difficulty. And the usual rules after that, no training camp, no dot and so on |

is this one going past march? odds of 25-1 on that
seriously, though.....no doubt no dot!!!
before, it was an exploit...in this version it's just stupid...it's the best way to kill your guy while the others just sit on his wheel

in the first PCM it used very little energy compared who anyone who tried to follow
not anymore, though. in this PCM it's just a bad idea. the other guys will just hang on to your guy's wheel and therefore spend a lot less energy than him.
it's exactly as if your guy was up front on infinite relay.
the only thing it' good for is if one of your guys is on relay, but isn't first in line for relays (another guy from a different team is ahead taking his turn and is going really slow). in that situation you can use it to get your guy to the front of the group so HE will relay.
not much more use, though.

What he said
Thanks everyone, I hope you will like it
Australian Road Race Championship
We arrived for the national championship with the following riders. Nick Gates, Matthew Lloyd, Robbie McEwen and Cadel Evans. Our plan for the race was to keep the pack together and eventually attack with Evans or McEwen. The 184 km long race had a hilly profile with a couple of climbs around the course, and we were going to have to race it 8 times. A couple of attacks started the race, but Lloyd and Gates managed to neatrulize it quite quickly. After about 70 km an attack managed to get a gap, but Roberts from CSC brought that one back for O'Grady. Evans surprised everyone with an attack 65 km from the finish line.
McGee and O'Grady countered instantly. With 30 km left they were caugth, but Evans and McGee attacked again in an effort to stay away. This time the gap incresed fast with both riders giving it all. Just 15 km from the line the two leaders got the word that the peleton was 1 min back, but 6 riders had just attacked, including O'Grady and McEwen. Evans stopped working right away when he heard of McEwen approaching. On the last climb McEwen attacked from the group behind and joined the two leaders. When the sprint was about to start with 3 km left the standing was like this. McGee leading out McEwen and Evans behind that, O'Grady's group was about 30 sec behind the leaders.
McGee started the sprint and McEwen left his wheel with 1,7km left. O'Grady was fast approacing them from behind. 600 meters before the line Evans left McEwen's wheel and started to sprint for himself, O'Grady was now in 3rd place after overtaking McGee. Evans took the win right before his teammate and O'Grady in third place. A total success for the Lotto team.
1.Cadel Evans ( Predictor-Lotto )
2.Robbie McEwen ( Predictor-Lotto )
3.Stuart O'Grady ( Team CSC )
"I'm very happy for this win, we decided before the race that he ( Robbie ) would give me the win if it was between us since he already won the title a few times, and now we managed to get a double. That's a great start of the season." Cadel Evans - About the race and being champion
"Well, I'm happy for him. We agreed before the race that he would be the leader and now we got the win for him. I feel good and I'm looking forward to Tour Down Under in a few days. My two big competitors will be Hushovd and Zabel, and they are great riders, but I know that my form is already good this season and it's my home race. Hopefully that will give me the edge." Robbie McEwen - about the tactic and the upcoming Tour Down Under |

great start, good luck in continuing domination
Robbie's obviously in great condition, attacking from his breakaway group and still sprinting for second place behind his own teamate, you should do well in TDU |

My stay in London ends tomorrow so here is an update
Tour Down Under
Here we are. The rest of the riders joined Robbie here in Australia yesterday. We are well prepared for this race and it's our goal to get at least a few stage wins, but we have some decent competition, Zabel from Team Milram and Hushovd from Credit Agricole. Still, we are confident of Robbie's chances considering his good from in the nationals.
Stage 1
First stage was rather short, only about 50km in lenght and completly flat. Short said, we should get top 3 here or it's a failure. The stage started in a quite low pace fort eh first 8-9 km, but suddenly 4 riders attacked. They quickly built a gap of 2 minutes and we were seriously deicding if we should send some riders to keep it within range. Before we had decided milram had sent 4 riders to the front with Unibet as the oth er team there with 3 riders. After about 20 km the gap had started to decrese and was only at 1,30 with 24 km left. We sent a few guys to help to get it back and with 11 km left it was peleton first.
Robbie was on Hushovd's wheel when the sprint was about to start, but suddenly he saw the Milram train come out from nowhere. Zabel had 2 lead out riders and was looking good. Robbie quickly changed to Zabel's wheel with pushing away a Unibet rider in the process, not sure who it was.
With 1,6 km left Zabel rode away from the wheel of his last lead out man and Robbie had no problem in following. The two riders had left the others behind and it was a 1-on-1 fight for the win. With 600 meters left, Robbie went out on Zabel's left side and tried to get past. 300 meters later he was in the lead!.
In the last meters Zabel got closer again but couldn't take back the lead and McEwen took the first stage with a bike length.
---------------------
1.McEwen
2.Zabel
3.Hushovd
---------------------
"It was a good stage, I didn't have to do much until the finish and there I got Zabel's wheel and it was no problem for the win." - Robbie McEwen about the stage |
