As many of you will have seen, the Track World Championships will be in the 2009 management game season and here are the qualifiers for it!
Before anyone asks, the stage file is: https://www.mediafire.com/?5hd31jgnmec. If anyone asks about the stage file or db file then their post will be deleted.
The track world champs will contain the following events:
Sprint
Keirin
Individual Pursuit
Team Sprint
Scratch Race
Points Race
There will be qualifiers for the Sprint, Keirin and Individual Pursuit. Possibly the Scratch and Points race, but not the Team Sprint.
The qualifiers will be raced as the normal teams, while the worlds itself will be in national teams.

There are 40 entrants for the Sprint/Keirin qualifiers:
Aleksei Markov
Alex Rasmussen
Allan Davis
Alois Kankovský
Ashley Hutchinson
Ben Swift
Brad Huff
Cameron Meyer
Chris Hoy
Daniel Kreutzfeldt
Daniel Thorsen
Dmitri de Fauw
Emile Abraham
Erik Mohs
Fredrik Johansson
Geraint Thomas
Graeme Brown
Gregory Hendersen
Hayden Godfrey
Iljo Keisse
Jason Kenny
Juan Esteban Arango
Kam-po Wong
Luke Rowe
Mahdi Sohrabi
Mark Cavendish
Matt Goss
Michael Mørkøv
Mikahil Bourgoin
Mike Friedman
Mikhail Ignatiev
Mikolai Trusov
Peter Kennaugh
Piotr Zielinski
Said Haddou
Samai Samai
Theo Bos
Vasilis Anastopoulos
Vladimir Djudja
Zakkari Dempster
The qualifying system is quite simple. The stage file is roughly 12km long and in the first race, the first 10 to cross the line qualify for the sprint and keirin. For the 2nd race, the first 6 will qualify for the sprint, and the first 14 will make it into the Keirin. Everyone else fails to make it, although will be on a reserve list should any of the qualifiers race in E3 Prijs or the Criterium International instead.
Race 1
40 riders line up to contest the first race, and while we expect a bunch sprint, Jason Kenny of Slipstream disagrees and attacks! Samai Samai goes with him.
And its a good plan! Theyve built up a 1 minute gap as the velodrome enters view.
The peleton's chase is mainly lead by the Free Agents team, but then Cameron Meyer hits the deck, causing chaos. Most big guns survive, but Goss and Mohs both hit the deck - also down are Thomas, Kennaugh and the Danish Morkov.
Kenny leads out Samai in the sprint. Their gap is huge though and they will both qualify for the worlds.
Graeme Brown meanwhile leads the pack, with Hoy and Rasmussen besides him. Bos has Hoy's wheel, with Cavendish behind Bos.
Its a fairly even battle for the win.
But Jason Kenny takes the victory ahead of Samai Samai.
A group of 9 has formed in the bunch sprint - 8 will qualify, but one will have to wait for race 2, Alois Kankovský is in the 11th position as we head round the final turn. Most of the big guns are there, but where is Bourgoin???
Cavendish takes 3rd, ahead of Bos and Hoy.
Kankovský makes it inside the top 10, Alex Rasmussen faded but also made it - and it is Olympic silver medallist Aleksei Markov who misses the cut for race 1. Bourgoin and Thorsen will need to up their game in race 2 aswell, while Goss and Mohs should make sure not to crash next time. (By the way, Kam Po Wong and Ashley Hutchinson are on the Nintendo team as Crommy currently holds the highest bid for them)

Race 2
With 3 team spaces opened up for Race 2, a few more riders were able to join in. Timothy Gudsell (American Suzuki), Bobbie Traksel (Domina Vacanze) and Stuart O'Grady (Carlsberg). Olaf Pollack also joined Michael Mørkøv on the Philips team, Uugunbayar joins Markov and Thomas in British Airways' lineup, Matt Rowe joins his brother Luke at Wiggle and the Downling brothers join Ben Swift at Procycling.
Theres a fair few nervous national team bosses sat in the velodrome for the 2nd race. The Australian National boss has got 2 riders already, but will hope Goss, Thorsen and maybe even Hutchinson can join them. The Russian coach was hailed as a potential Russian president after Markov got Olympic Silver, he could have the KGB after him if Markov fails to qualify for the Worlds. Ths U.S. coach must be worried about Friedman and Huff too, Friedman was an Olympic quarter finalist but the recently crowned US champ looked completely out of form in Race 1.
The greek rider Anastapoulos of Gatorade put in an attack with 8km to go, he never managed to get away, but successfully managed to splinter the peleton down to 13 riders with 3km to go - and since the first 14 today qualify for the Keirin, all 13 are guaranteed to be at the Worlds - although it is the top 6 they are after in order to enter the sprint.
Anastopoulos still looks strong and pushes inbetween the Procycling duo of Russ Downing and Swift.
The trains are: R. Downing > Anastopolous > Swift > Friedman > M. Rowe and Uugunbayar > Markov > Goss > O'Grady > Hutchinson > Bourgoin > Mohs. The free agents rider on the right is Djudja.
With 1km to go, Anastapoulos moves past Downing into the lead. Goss and Markov are making their moves too but Bourgoin is a long way back.
Swift comes alongside Anastapoulos with Friedman nicely placed in 3rd.
They race towards the line and with just 300m to go, its not looking good for Bourgoin - he is battling Stuey O'Grady for 7th.
Ben Swift takes the victory!
Russ Downing isnt sprinting, giving Bourgoin a chance - can the frenchman grab the final spot in the Sprint?
He can!
There is still interest in the 2nd half of the peleton though, as the final place in the Kierin is still up for grabs. Daniel Thorsen should be in the mix, but he isnt and Brad Huff takes it. Olympic Keirin Bronze medallist Greg Hendersen only came 16th and misses out on the worlds.

Individual Pursuit
Top 16 qualify, the rest are reserves if (as expected) many of the ProTour riders go to Criterium International or if some riders head to E3 Prijs.
Olympic champion Bradley Wiggins comfortably qualified fastest and confirms his status as top favourite for the event.
Mikhail Ignatiev qualified 2nd, but is expected to ride the Criterium International which would force him to miss the World.
If there is no Ignatiev, then 3rd placed Pluchkin is the biggest rival to Wiggins (Unless Pluchkin rides E3 Prijs)
With a pricing of over 2 million, there is a lot of pressure upon the shoulders of Taylor Phinney, but he didnt let it show as took an impressive 8th. Teammate Kovalev was 4th, as 4 Virgin riders finished inside the top 16.

Kilo
A time check 1km into the course decided the qualifiers for the Kilo - Im not sure how many qualify as Waghlon will be doing that event.
Ivan Kovalev clocked an elusive 1'09, ahead of 10 riders on 1'10 and 18 riders on 1'11.

[insert rant about failing to include the Kilo due to its relative simplicity]
[insert snide comment about how i offered help for something, and now might just as well do the Kilo if you wont]

Its actually realistic to have the qualifiers in the off season, since in real life, they qualify through the track world cups which take place over the winter.
Id love to do the Kilo Waghlon, if you can name enough riders for it (Unless you think I should just use the Individual Pursuit riders)

Well the Team Sprint won't have qualifiers, it will be nations, so Bourgoin will have to find some frenchies. In real life, France would win the team sprint, but Bourgoin was the only french track rider I added.
Race 1 of the Sprint/Keirin qualifiers coming up!
