Continental Championships - European B RR

The Euro B Champs will deliver some Nations the chance to ride against the best in the Euro A championship. The top 4 will be rewarded with this honor.
While talking about a B championship, some of the riders here are absolutely top class! Favourites are:
Pluchkin
Prevar
Wyss/Cancellara
Lövkvist
Vastaranta
Konovalovas
Durasek
Tvetcov/Grosu
and some more.

Israel, Bulgaria, Romania and Moldavia do the work behind. 160km to go and a bit under 10min for the gap.

Ukraine and Moldavia with a very high pace now. In especially first with Topchanyuk make many riders struggle and the peloton is down to 41 only.
Biggest riders behind is surely Wyss. But with Fumeaux, Reichenbach, Hollenstein and Cancellara Switzerland still with 4 in front.

Lovassy as last rider is soon to be caught. Still 38km to go and lots of climbing left. Meanwhile Pluchkin, Prevar and Grivko have tried a first smaller attack. But the other riders did not allow it, neither was it that serious.

With 33km to go, Pluchkin with the next attack. This one is much stronger. Behind him Prevar tries to follow.
Cancellara and Kiserlovski immediately come to the front to higher the pace again.

But Pluchkin is strongest here for sure. The new Metinvest star is having a nice form already. Prevar, who is actually the better puncheur can`t follow him and is already 50s behind.
The peloton of 36 another 40s later mainly led by Switzerland and Sweden now.

The fight for bronze or even silver is still open.
Vastaranta with a big attack now followed by a couple of other riders:
Reichenbach
Lövkvist
Grivko
Scarponi
Tvetcov
Kiserlovski
Siskevicius

Scarponi goes into 3rd position now ahead of Lövkvist and Vastaranta. A bit behind Kiserlovski, Grivko, Siskevicius and Reichenbach while the next look beaten already.
Prevar is 1min ahead with 10km to go.
Pluchkin is 4min further up the road, so the clear winner alraedy.

So he can celebrate early. Even lapped some late riders as well. Nice show of strength by him and he now has the chance to ride against the best in the A Champs.

Prevar is able to finish as 2nd and secures Ukraine another ticket. Well done.

The fight for bronze looked close earlier. In the end Scarponi takes it, which will lead San Marino to the big league. Small surprise here.

The fight for the last spot is much closer. Vastaranta wins the sprint though as he is clearly the best sprinter. Grivko though came close. But he won`t mind as Prevar already secured their spot. So it`s Finland being the last Nation to grab a ticket.

Behind Lithuania, Switzerland, Croatia, Romania and Sweden without a chance to show themselves.
