The individual time trial is expected to be decided between Anaya and Rajapakshage. However with 10-15 riders capable of winning on a good day and 30+ riders capable of riding top 10 it's a very open race alltogther.
Favourites:
Flakemore is the first of the top favourites to go out on the course.
On the first intermediate he is 4 seconds slower than Werda. On the second he is 2 seconds faster but in goal he clocks in at the same time.
Hirai disappoints a bit finishing 17 seconds down on Werda.
Dibben marks when the favourites start coming close together. 10th at the first intermediate, 4th at the second and 4th in finish.
Jaguar - Eritel have had a good start to the series and Gebremedhin continues that by being the first to beat Werda on the first part.
Meanwhile Borisavljevic have ridden himself into the race. After not impressing on the intermediates he somehow finishes in 3rd best time.
Rajapakshage is the first of teh absolute top favourites to go out and he is looking fast today.
With everyone past the first checkpoint thigngs are very close:
Mayho is keeping a good pace clocking in solid times throughout the course.
Paquet sets new best time on goal. 2 seconds faster than Werda and Flakemore.
Andersson surprises by setting 2nd best time.
After some strong intermediate times Rios ends up cutting another half second of the best time.
He barely gets to sit down in the hot-seat before Mayho improves it by another 4 seconds.
The 10 best at the 2nd intermediate:
Gebremedhin beats Mayho by 5 seconds.
Rajapakshage beats the Eritrean rider by as much as 39 seconds.
Anaya is the final rider to challenge.
The small hill near the finish didn't quite help him though and all things considered he should be happy with 2nd place.
