After a mixed year in 2014, Pendleton's are back as one of professional cycling's longest-running team sponsors. And it is back with another beautiful jersey from ace designer Will007, a classy design with a few flourishes of Pendleton's trademark eyecatching pink.
He has also produced beautiful jerseys for our National Champions Sean Downey:
And Oumaru Minoungou:
We are very thankful to Will for these splendid creations and look forward to impressing in them in the 2015 season.

That's a nice Irish jersey you have there, allthough we'll have to talk in transfer about Downey anyway, so hopefully we'll never see it in action.

Really nice to see two of my favorite Man-Game riders, Tim and Tim, finally get some training. Both should do well for you this season, although you clearly lack a top points scorer.

Early Season Review
The year began in China with the Badaling International and we were hoping to get off to a good start as Phillipe began another year leading us in the hills. Things didn't go as planned though, as our leader hit the ground early and placed poorly in the bunch sprint. The Tour of Qatar was never going to be a fertile hunting ground for the team and Pendleton's were largely anonymous while Ben Swift pipped Sam Bewley to the win.
This year we are also racing on other fronts and the Tour of Eritrea was our first HC race since promotion to the ProTour. Our strong climbing team, led by new signing Alejandro Valverde, finished in contention on the queen stage before moving up on the hills that came after. Valv attacked hard on the final stage and very nearly caught the break to take 2nd place that day and overall.
The Omloop Het Volk (a classic turned stage race) was Florian Senechal's debut as protected rider and maybe his inexperience showed on the first stage. Poor positioning left him in the back half of a split peloton and the gap just grew, Florian finishing the stage 13 minutes down and out of GC contention. He ended the next stage in the bunch before the team butchered the unusual cobbled TTT for 19th place.
It was the traditional classics-prepping 1-2 where we looked to get back on track. Stage 4 of the Tirreno-Adriatico was probably the first time the team got their faces on TV as they pulled back the break but it came to nothing as Joe Dombrowski finished nearly 5 minutes back.
Joe was more in contention as the race hit proper mountains the following day, still losing a fair chunk of time but at least being among other supposed GC contenders. Tim Kennaugh was getting in the breaks and scored a 4th place while Joe took on the mantle of best young rider (a jersey he kept until the end). It was the penultimate stage however where we broke our duck - Phil Deignan infiltrated the break and attacked 3k from the finish line in San Benedetto del Tronto to take the win!
His wasn't the only Irish success of the week though, as former rider Dan Martin rode to an incredible overall win. Paris-Nice was less fruitful as Alejandro battled his way to 20th in GC.

Pre-Giro Round-up
The classics season kicked off with the Classique du Grand-Duché in a new position in the calendar and this tough race in the Luxembourg hills was a chance for Phillipe Gilbert to get his year on track. Instead it was young talent Alexey Lutsenko who was upsetting the apple cart at the head of proceedings with numerous feisty attacks.
He ultimately finished a pleasing ninth with Phillipe just four places behind. From there they went on to Italy for Milan - San Remo, a happy hunting ground for Phillipe in the past. And it proved to be so once again with 6th place his reward for good positioning at the finish. Ahead of him it was Sam Bewley winning his first monument of the season. Plenty more where that came from...
The Chrono des Herbiers and the Lisbon Classic didn't really suit our strengths so it was a pleasant surprise to see Phillipe sneak 14th in the latter while Florian Senechal spearheaded our tilt at a home win in the East Midlands Cicle Classic. His 11th place was an OK ride in the end given that his inexperience saw him caught out in an early split. In the Vuelta al Pais Vasco, results in the hills were hard to come by for Phillipe Gilbert but he rode out of his skin to finish 3rd in the final time trial and finish 15th on GC. Alejandro Valverde also had a brief spell in the mountains jersey.
The zenith of the cobbles season was reached with the Ronde van Vlaanderen and Paris - Roubaix. Florian struggled a little over the hills in the Belgian race but performed well in his home race to take 9th. A future winner?
Both of these results were of course behind the imperious Sam Bewley.

Against the odds perhaps, Pendleton's have finished in a very creditable 12th position in this year's ProTour, a result that will secure the team's sponsorship for another season. Besides this very brief suck it to all the haters, a full review of an incredible year will follow.
