-----
So it feels like it is time to release the first Excel version of the 2015 ManGame DB. Here it is: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1rdg9z2p1rz...1.xls?dl=0
First thing to note is that the rider addition process is by no means finished. While there are some new riders in there, the main purpose of this release is to provide an up to date version with updated stats from development increases and age decreases, new team names, national champions and the free agency list.
Also included is a new Average formula that roturn has come up with, with a bit of feedback from me. The purpose of this was to better reflect the importance of the main stat relative to secondary stats - it was clear last season that a number of the so-called 'one-dimensional' riders were underrated in terms of Average, and thus the amount of race days.
It is now calculated by:
Spoiler 6 * Max(Mo, Hl, TT {TT - 2 if MO < 75} , Cb - 1, Sp - 5 {Sp - 7 if Hl < 61})
+
2 * Next Best (Mo, Hl, TT, Cb - 1, Sp - 5, Ac)
+
1.3 * Next Best (Fl, Mo, Hl, TT, St, Rs, Rc, Cb - 2, Sp - 9, Ac)
+
0.75 * Next Best (Fl, Mo, Hl, TT, St, Rs, Rc, Cb - 2, Sp - 9, Ac)
+
0.5 * Next Best (Fl, Mo, Hl, TT, St, Rs, Rc, Cb - 2, Sp - 9, Ac)
Divided by 10.55.
I am now referring to this as the Overall stat, rather than the Average. This new formula is not final, and I really welcome feedback from all managers on this.
The exact Race Days formula will need to be updated once the Overall formula is finalised. I have made a couple of crude changes to last year's formula to offer an indication of what those Race Days might be. This reflects a reduction in the amount of race days all teams will have this season, as well as the new Overall stat. Note that any PT rider with less than 42 race days will still have the option to ride 2 Grand Tours, but these can be the only two races which they ride all season.

Christmas has arrived in April. Mucho Gracias!
Will think hard on the 'overall' rating and try and provide some feedback.

Oh man that new formula really hurts me, though it is totally fair.
Thanks for this SN, now the really exciting part of the planning can get under way.

New DB, thanks SN
Wow, those overall changes, which make Zmorka second best rider in the team.
Ignatiev got more race days though, but i am not sure it is fair ibn some cases, because this makes alla arounders a bit overpowered in terms of race days and some one dimensional riders almost useless, will give it few more looks though...
Oh boy, how much i like certain added rider...hey Alex.

Some nice riders added, without adding over the top talents. I like that, hope it stays that way in the last version. A couple of the new riders I might take a look at come transfers (atleast one)
I think I know the guy Alex and Avin will fight over, looks like a great domeqtique in the PT.
How will it be with training of added riders, is that allowed?

Is it just me and LibreOffice, or is there no way to sort the columns? As in the past DB's have like drop down menus you can use to filter, but i don't have them this time around. And with something like 3500 riders it's quite an issue

That is Libreoffice
I remember from using open office before that I could find a sort option somewhere, today I'm using excel so much easier

Well i have the exact same drop downs in ICL DB's and they work fine. I accept it might be LibreOffice but i'm unwilling to download a whole new software just to open MG DB's.
Equally i can't 'sort' either because that crashes it every time i do.
Boy i'm in for a fun day with this! But still thanks for getting the DB out

Btw, I think something has gone wrong in the DB, Roturn has gotten quite a large team 43 Riders

Great to get the DB out.
There's an issue with my stagiaire Manninen though. He hasn't gained a single XP-point in spite of racing both Azerbaijan and l'Avenir.
Edit: Looking a bit closer on the DB I suspect it's an issue with quite a lot of stagiaires actually...

Yep, I realized TTers didn't come off lightly considering some of them are absolutely useless outside of maybe 6 or 7 stages all season long now...
And @Heine, I really hope the renewals formulas are adjusted to this.

It is just that those 6 or 7 stages can sometimes be crucial for GC, as shown by the huge number of riders at PCT and CT level who are only good at TTs and yet score huge points. At PT level I can see your point and agree, because there are fewer races for them, but below that I think they are immensely powerful.

Josef Cerny is not marked as national champion, while he did win the race iirc.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

What? Actually it was completely otherwise in PCT and only exception was Michael Ford
For example Zmorka wiill be close to useless as point scorer in PT and he has second biggest overall from the team and next year after his maxing out he will challenge the overall of Ignatiev beast with this overall formula, while having one great stat only...
This will for sure encourage everybody to buy mainly all arounders, because those guys with one high stat have minimal race days now compared to their point scoring potentials.
TTists will pay for success of Ford and hilly guys will pay for DiMaggio and Clayes, not sure that this is the good way to be honest. Give them hard time during renewals, instead of punishing whole group of riders...
Edit: Now i have seen that Zmorka or M.Ford have bigger overalls than Lars Boom, which i found pretty hillarious.

^ - I'm pretty sure Olman had multiple top 5 GC finishes for the OZ. (Faso off the top of my head)
Thanks a lot SN. Plenty of changes there: as if Nicacio didn't suffer enough last season! |
