Good luck mate. With many PCT teams promoting, I think with shrewd transfers you have a nice chance of promoting, at least be in that fight. So come on, Amex boys!

Round 1 of Rider renewals have been submitted and now we wait to see who wants to sign contracts. New changes put a bit of uncertainty in the process, but If we paid everybody what they asked for we would have had no concerns.
The Rocky Mountain News is already leaking a story that several riders where not even sent offers. They are reporting the number maybe as high as 5 riders.
Calls to the team HQ in Salt Lake City are getting a standard press release:
AMEX-Navigon will not comment on contract negotiations that are still in progress. As such time as contracts have been signed or discussions have ceased, then and only them will AMEX-Navigon respond to contract related questions.
AMEX-Navigon did confirm that a new kit design is in the works and will be announced in the next few weeks.

AMEX-Navigon signs six (6) new riders for 2015
More signings pending.
[img-l]https://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g369/MHaley45/Baugnies_zps19zz4vkj.png[/img-l]
Jerome Baugnies has been acquired from Quickstep (PT) in a transfer deal that sent Quickstep - Marko Kump and 340.000 Euros. Baugnies is one of the top cobblers in all of cycling and he will take over as the Cobble Squad leader. Capable of handling any course he is a podium threat every time starts a cobble race. Baugnies will be supported by Matti Breschel and Michael Kurth.
[img-l]https://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g369/MHaley45/Nizzolo_zpstmghxv85.jpg[/img-l]
Giacomo Nizzolo race last season on the Pro Tour for Rothaus. A tier One Italian sprinter, who will team with last years leader Paride Grillo who will no be Nizzolo's leadout man a role he is better suited for. Nizzolo and Grillo will be supported by Jake Keough and Rudiger Selig.
In the 2014 Transfer Season, AMEXpc was greatly disappointed that they were out bid for the young American Punchuer - Ian Boswell. This season when he came on the Open Market as a Free Agent, there was no hesitation and he was signed for 400.000 Euros. AMEX-Navigon will be looking to loan him to a PT team realizing it is late in the transfer season and with a 400k wage it might prove to be difficult. If Boswell stays with the team for 2014 he will be a top support rider for Dieter Mehr-Wenige.

None of AMEX-Navigon's new riders was happier than Luke Keough who after a season in the CT he gets to join his older brother Jake Keough on the AMEX-Navigon team. Luke is still young and has a lot to learn but he will get his chances in the PCT.
[img-l]https://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g369/MHaley45/La%20Gac_zps2yecakm7.jpg[/img-l]
Mark O'Brien was purchased from the OZ Cycling Project. Mark is an Aussie uphill domestique who will ride with the AMEX-Navigon Punchuers.

Oliver La Gac is a young French Punchuer on loan to AMEX-Navigon from Festina-Canal+ for the 2015 season. Already nickname "La Twin" because he looks so much like Giacomo Nizzolo. La Gac is an accomplished Punchuer who all add more depth to out hilly squad.

Hmm the team seems to not have improved as much as I thought it might this year probably down to Boswell signing? Baugnies is of course a very nice addition to the cobbled squad to replace Eisel though |

The 2015 season is now completed and AMEX-Navigon finished 15th in the PCT. For a team that was only successful on two terrains that was a solid season.
In each of their three PCT seasons AMEX has slowly improved. With three key riders on load in 2015 it was never expected to be a strong season. AMEX's cobblers have always been strong and 2015 was no exception but the balance of cobblers shifted significantly in 2015 and the PCT was very likely the strongest division for cobblers. AMEX was still able to amass 892 points on those races.
Last off season AMEX secured the service of the American punchuer Ian Boswell and he brought some life to the AMEX hilly squad. Boswell is still not fully trained yet he finished in the top 50 PCT point earners and was the team's 2nd leading scorer. The hilly classics were our strongest races and in total this squad scored 906 points.
Also last off season AMEX attempted to shore up a weak sprint squad with the signing of Nizzolo. Not a top tier PCT sprinter he still battled hard with little support and scored 227 points. As a team they were still far below average with just 239 points earned. The biggest failure was the dramatic drop off in production for the 2014 sprint leader Grillo. In 2015 he scored just 3 points all season.
Now what does AMEX-Navigon have to look forward to in 2016. The team had three riders out on loan to the PT. Jan Dieteren who will return fully trained and ready to step into the improving hill squad. Also returning will be American cobbler Robert Bush who very likely will challenge Matti Breschel as the #2 cobbler. It will give AMEX even more depth than ever on the cobblers.
Finally German sprinter Theo Reinhardt will return to become a long need leadout man for the Italian Nizzolo. The sprinters will still be weak but they should be improving.
AMEX needs to continue to improve and for them to be prepared to challenge for promotion to the PT they need to become productive in the Sprints or the Stage races. We will need to see what is available and what salaries might have to be eliminated to make room for 1 or 2 productive new riders.
Many thanks to all the ManGame administrators and race reporters who make this the great product that it is. The rule changes to speed up the season were in my opinion excellent and let's keep cranking away.
Thanks for 2015 and we are looking forward to 2016.

Nice to see Nizzolo had a decent season. Was a tough decision for me to trade him as he was planned to stay. But in the end it was better for both sides. As he is still young, you could clearly try to improve him a bit in future. |
