My favoruite thread of the whole year, and with rumours beginning to fly around it's the right time for this thread
Main rumour today, but what looks to be a done deal with few sources reporting, Fernando Gaviria will be joining Etixx-Quick Step in 2016. AG2R were also in contention. Etixx will allow him to ride track in his first years from what is said.
Other 2016 done deals are all done by Orica.
Robert Power, Alex Edmondson and Jack Haig will all be joining Orica at the end of 2016.
And probably the big point of the transfers will also involve Orica, which is the future of Porte, whether he extends with Sky or Orica grabs him. If so it will be interesting if Sky will try to get some deal for Yates's. It will be interesting season for Sky with Wiggins gone from the road team wage budget, and possibly Porte as well.

Well, that's some proper recon. Just sign the guy who beats your best rider. Can't wait to see Gaviria leading-out Cavendish and "accidently" taking the win instead.

Noo, was Ag2R in the mix? Damn, they are rapidly becoming my second favourite team, would have loved to see him there. But will interesting to see Gaviria with Holm as reporters generally have good insights, mainly in the Tour.
Interesting scenario with the Yates brothers and Porte, looking forward to see how thats gonna play it. Orica could need some riders to produce right away, but the future is looking very bright anyhow for that team with Yates, Cort, Chaves etc. |

Now Cav in his contract year REALLY needs to perform to get a new one because that boy Gaviria is on it. |

Looks like Gaviria signed dependent on the team supporting him for targeting the track for the Olympics in 2016, so realistically 2017 would probably be the first year he'd fully target the road. Signing Cav back for 2016-17 would therefore be completely reasonable. He'll also only be 31 and 32 those years, so it should be comfortably before he takes a step back. A lot of sprinter (McEwen, Ale-Jet, Cipo) were beyond 35 before their ability to win a sprint stage at the highest level seemed to start disintegrating. |

According to the Telegraf Thomas Dekker is close to a signing with Lampre Merida as they want to become more international.
Would be yet another weird Lampre deal imo. |

Read an article on CQ about Lampre denying that since they want to groom their own talents instead of signing Dekker. On the other hand, it could create some decent media attention since many dutch people (at least thats the vibe i get in here) still like Dekker very much. |

Lampre signing a suspicious rider/former doper? Never!
Don't see any real logic in signing Dekker. Bar the hour record attempt he's done little since his return from his ban. |
