2013 Season
After a mixed 2013 season, which saw the outstanding skills of Peter Sagan and the fall of Ivan Basso, we are now looking forward to the 2014 season.
Our main goals are not very different from last season, as we will be looking for the Green Jersey in the Tour de France again. Beside that, Sagan will be looking to add more Spring Classics victories to his palmares.
Our eyes are mostly set on the Giro d'Italia, where we hope to do a lot better than last year. We believe Damiano Caruso is up for the task. We doubt he will do worse than Basso did last year.
Of course our vision remains to develop young talents to world-class riders. This is why we are so excited to see Josh Burton racing in our colours next season. We are also proud of the progression that Silvio Pennarossa made last season, where he got several good results for our team. |

Josh Burton, the new Ivan Basso...
Hello to all of the Cannondale fans, my name is Josh and I'm about to start my second season as a Pro. In my neo-pro season I rode for Argos-Shimano which was a fantastic opportunity for a 19 year old. In the end, I repaid them for their trust with a great performance in my home race in September but I came to Cannondale to help them in their transition post Basso. This season I really want to ride (and perform well in) a Grand Tour again and understand that it probably won't be the Giro seeing as I'm not Italian. I also want to pick up where I left off at Argos by leading the team in smaller races and trying to get some stage wins in tough terrain.
Palmares: 2013, Team Argos Shimano
-1st Stage 5, Tour of Britain
-6th GC Tour of Britain
-2nd KoM Tour of Britain
-3rd U25 Tour of Britain
-6th Stage 16, Giro d'Italia

HI FOLKS
Hi everybody! In case you haven't heard of me before, my name is Silvio Pennarossa. and I'm currently riding for Cannondale Pro Cycling. This will be my second year as a professional cyclist after making my debut last year here at Cannondale.
Let me tell you something about myself. I'm 24 years old and I was born in Chiesanuova, San Marino. At the age of 5, my dad bought my first bike. When I turned 11, I participated in the National Championships, and I won! Yes, there are not many cyclists in San Marino, but still, at only 11! At this moment I have won 13 consecutive titles in both the road race and the time trial, as well as a fourth place in the youth time trial World Championships.
Last year I got to now the ins and outs of cycling, this year I want to know the ins and outs of winning at the highest level in cycling.

In | Out | | | Enrico Battaglin | Ivan Basso | Francesco Bongiorno | Cayetano Sarmiento | Francesco Lasca | Lucas Sebastian Haedo | Davide Villella | Elia Viviani |
With the transfer season underway, we are very happy with how it is progressing.
Ivan Basso
While Basso could have been of use for us as a helper in the mountains, we thought it would be better for him to go to a team where he is still of use as a leader. We are very happy for him that he found a home at Androni and wish him the best for the future. We have the new Basso ready to get going.
Elia Viviani
It was tough to decide whether to part ways with Elia or not, but we knew we could not provide him the support in the sprint that he needed. We could not pass up the opportunity to trade him for the two talented Bardiani riders Battaglin and Bongiorno. They will give us more options whenever the roads go up.
Francesco Lasca
When Caja Rural suggested to trade Haedo and Sarmiento for Lasca, we did not have to think twice. Strengthening our Italian base has always been our main focus. Lasca will be a great addition to our Journey for Green.
Davide Villella
We are delighted to announce that we managed to sign one of Italy's big talents. Davide will be a great asset to our team in the hills and he has a great future ahead of him.

In | Out | | | Daniele Bennati | Kristjan Koren | Nathan Brown | Maciej Bodnar | Alberto Bettiol | | Jonathan Dibben | | Hugh Carthy | Mads Pedersen | |
Daniele Bennati
After 3 years, Bennati is back with our team. Turning 34 this year, he'll be a great mentor for our young team. Bennati will also be the main lead-out rider for Peter Sagan. We took a big blow to our cobbles team though, with Koren and Bodnar leaving. However, this deal got us another Italian rider in our team.
Nathan Brown
22 year old American Nathan Brown joins us as a neo-pro. Brown is an all-round rider, with his main strength being the time trials.
Alberto Bettiol
20 year old Italian Alberto Bettiol joins us for his neo-pro season. Bettiol's main strength is his sprint. His addition to the team increases our Italian base even more.
Jonathan Dibben
Another rider joining us for his neo-pro season is 19 year old Jonathan Dibben from England. While he doesn't really excel in a discipline yet, we are sure he'll develop into a good rider.
Hugh Carthy
19 year old Hugh Carthy is another English rider that joins our squad for his neo-pro season. Carthy's main strength is climbing mountains.
Mads Pedersen
18 year old Dane Mads Pedersen is the last rider to join our team for his neo-pro season. Pedersen's strength is his sprint and we are very happy to have this huge talent join our team.

Cannondale Youth League
At Cannondale we are always busy developing young talents, so that one day they'll be able to reach their full potential. To boost this progress, we are starting with a small Youth League where young riders get the opportunity to shine in six races with different profiles in 5 countries.
A rider is eligible when he is 23 years of age or younger at the start of the 2014 season and does not have stats above 75. The following stats are excluded from this rule: Time-Trial, Prologue, Downhill, Fighter and Recuperation. This includes Custom riders.
The races will be held throughout the season with 1 race in each season part and 1 in each season break.
After each race, the top 10 of the race will be awarded points for their finishing position. This part is still subject to change.
1st place | 25 | 2nd place | 18 | 3rd place | 15 | 4th place | 10 | 5th place | 8 | 6th place | 6 | 7th place | 4 | 8th place | 3 | 9th place | 2 | 10th place | 1 |
The following races are included in the Youth League:
| Profile type | Winner | Team | Torfeo Alcide Degasperi | Hills | Warren Barguil | Belkin Pro Cycling Team | Vuelta a la Rioja | Flat | | | I.W.T. Jong Maar Moedig | Cobbles | | | Grand Prix of Wales | Hills | | | Sparkassen Münsterland Giro | Flat | | | Lienz - Monte Zoncolan | Mountains | | |
We hope many of you are willing to join and look forward to seeing your riders at the start line in Rossano Veneto.
If you don't want your team or custom riders to participate feel free to say so, otherwise I'll assume you have no problem with them participating.
You are allowed to select your own team. If you do not, I will select the riders for you. There is a limit of 8 riders per team.
~ Francesco Moser

With a serious promotion challenge ahead of us i would like to withdraw all standard FDJ.fr riders from participating in this competition.
If our EPIC riders wish to participate they can do but it is not recommended.
Dropbear
I will not be taking part in this competition. I've agreed to ride CCC's Savona thing already and i don't want to harm my regular season by competeing in too many extra events.

Mangere Kaha would like to say no thanks to the offer, but Damian Owniak and Sören Berg has agreed to participate.
EDIT : Damian is not allowed by the BMC manager and think it's a good reason against participating, so sorry
CCC will not participate in this in any way, as we have a tough schedule and won't wanna upset the riders more than necessary.

Well, Damian isn't even eligible so no, he won't participate.
BMC would be happy to take part, sounds like a great opportunity for our youngsters to get some leadership experience. As we have seven very different, versatile riders to pick from, I think we'd actually have a chance of winning, so why turn that down?
Craddock
Dillier
Felline
Küng
Preidler
Warbasse
Yates
ps. I get the whole role-playing thing and I like that just as much as anyone but I don't get why people keep flat refusing to take part in these things. If mvhoogdalem (or anyone else) is willing to take the time to run what should be a fun little competition, the least you can do is send a couple of riders. Especially when they will probably spend the entire season slaving their asses off for team leaders.

Great stuff mvh! NetApp will take part of course. Is the above 75-rule applied to all races or does it only matter for the initial entry at the start of the season (e.g. if Walker increases next season break to SP 76, he won't be able to ride Youth League anymore?)
Line-Up:
Nikias Arndt
Ian Boswell
Ioannis Dimitriou
Heimdal Hägg
J.A. Juarez
Thomas Schwabe
Mathieu Van der Poel
Mathias Von Triesenberg
Dermot Walker

Is there a limit of riders to nominate?
Since I believe the oldest year is 1990 (correct me if I'm wrong, long day of studying) here are all nominations:
Natnael Berhane
Tsgabu Grmay
Songezo Jim
Merhawi Kudus
Husani Mashaba
Louis Meintjes
Youcef Reguigui
Marouane Shaqif
Yonas Tekeste
Jani Tewelde
Yeah, that's quite some. If you need to scrap, you can scrap (in order) Tewelde, Jim, Tekeste and Reguigui.

It seems I only have two eligible riders...
Orbe and Bilbao are both allowed to take part and can merge with another suitable team e.g. Movistar or Caja Rural should that be needed to make things work.

@Selwink There's a limit of 8 riders per team. Thought I put it in there that there's a limit of 8 riders per team, but it seems to have gone missing.
@Shonak The 75-rule will be only at entry, so I don't have to check every rider after each race.
@Atlantius Depending on how many Spanish riders Movistar / Caja Rural have, I might combine them as a Spanish team. |
