28km of flat time trialling kilometres will surely shake up the GC, but tcan Arredondo be caught?
No question on who will win the stage. Stannard is a class above in this field, and his time of 39'08 will not be beaten.
Another good early starter is Cruz, finishing 24 seconds down.
Lindgren was 37 seconds down, while Sterobo and Imhof also recorded times that would give them a stage Top 10.
Fastest time triallist of those in the '2nd peloton' yesterday is Joeaar, and his time was enough for 4th on the day, 34 seconds behind Stannard. His GC gain today would be from 41st to 23rd, so yesterday really was too much damage to make up.
Rosskopf didn't lose quite as much time yesterday and finished in 6th place at 39 seconds to Stannard today. It's enough for him to climb to 17th in GC, and lead the U25 classification.
There was plenty to gain for those who did make it into the '1st peloton' yesterday. Soto Pereira will climb to 4th in GC, while teammate Paulinho moves into 6th, just ahead of Olsson.
Meanwhile Hollenstein did enough to take 5th in GC.
Zoidl was always the most likely to come close to regaining 3 minutes on Arredondo and his time saw him take 2nd place on the stage, 24 seconds behind Stannard.
Marentes was able to benefit from his time gains on Stage 1, and just did enough to stay ahead of Soto Pereira in GC, for 3rd overall.
Those who gained time yesterday really struggled today. The best was Ito, and he lost 2'44 on Stannard. It was enough to keep him in the GC Top 10 in 8th though. Di Gregorio slipped to 10th, Malle to 11th and Geschke tumbled to 19th.
And what of Arredondo?
He finishes 2'47 behind Stannard. It's a big loss, but it is good enough for him. He stays as race leader, still holding a 42 second lead over Zoidl.
