However,
Olman is out on course and gone fastest at the first checkpoint.
Olman goes fastest. He shames the time of
Liu by '50. The new time to beat is 37'17.
The polish champ is out on course which signifies the best times from now on will not only effect the stage but also the GC.
Westra on course.
Olman still leads with around 50 riders to finish, the closest new challenger has been
Fominykh. The Kazkah finished '54 down, however his time does look good for the youth jersey.
Two close times.
Then we get two close times.
M.Ford finishes just '10 down before
Johansson of
Swedbank – PEAB (yes, they are racing here) finishes '8 down.
As things stand the Swede would win the GC.
Battle of the champions.
Kwok would finish some '36 down on Olman before
Ma would finish just '13 down. Both times would be good enough for a place in the top 15 today.
A new best time!
Only a handful of riders are left to start as news comes through of a new best time. It comes from the Canadian champ,
Meier, who finishes '10 faster than Olman. 37'07 is now the time to beat.
Meier's joy is short lived as former overall winner,
Reus, goes fastest at all three checkpoints on his way to new best time of 37'00.
Rogers means business. Then comes the race favourite. Why, is he the race favourite? Because he is the best!
Rogers goes fastest at the first checkpoint , '17 faster than Reus. Ominous.
Tennant shows well. The Brit is '12 down on the Aussie at the first checkpoint, however, he is the best of the rest.
IGNATIEV ..... can't match some of the others. The Ukrainian is 5
th at the first checkpoint, some '26 behind.
Rogers smashes the best time. The Aussie goes fastest, almost catching his teammate, with a new best time of 36'11, the best part of a minute faster than Reus. Can the others out on course even get close?
Tennant, the best of the rest.
Jaguar - Eritel have to be happy with how this race has gone. The Brit rides a consistent TT to finish second. He was '38 down on Rogers, however, he will be ecstatic to put good time into some of the others here...
Including the likes of
Ignatiev, the Ukrainian would finish 5
th, in a race he would expect to podium at least. He will be consoled by the fact his teammate joins him in the top 10.
Rogers wins the Post Danmark Rundt.
