A short ~12km team time trial. With yesterdays Bluff Hill being not very selective and only the first 3 got time gaps additional to their bonus seconds, the GC is still close and today could deliver a new race leader as Simon`s team Magna Ryanair surely is one of the weaker.
Clear favourite in pretty much all kinds of time trials once again Oz Cycling.
Privatbank has a decent TT team but just like Allianz they have one rider less which is never ideal for those team events. Good for them that it`s only 12km but still no chance for them to get a top result.
Normally at least as they take the provisional lead ahead of Kappa Eni (+2) and Eddie Stobart (+4).
Kenya, FCB, Boeing and Allianz are a bit further down but all within a 20s range.
The lead though does not last very long as first Sauber and then Mobil are passing them with a tiny lead of 2s.
Dell as next and with Cruz, Raisin or Lewis they have some time trialists and take the lead by 6s over Sauber.
Swedbank with their Swedish time trialists take the expected lead at that time. 2s faster than Dell only. So big time gaps can`t be expected today. Allianz as last is only 29s down.
And the trend keeps the same as we have once more another leader when Jaguar around Berhane comes in beating the best time by 5s.
Unfortunately no picture of Venchi despite having a nice ride today. Only 3s behind Jaguar they take the 2nd at the moment.
Fletcher as one of the strongest teams so far around green jersey Meyer. And they have a nice time here coming in as 3rd behind them 5s down, same time as Swedbank but a tiny bit faster apparently.
Metinvest was expected to fight for the podium today as they have 3-4 pretty good time trialists. But with those small gaps every seconds counts and unfortunate for them they are 5s down on Jaguar, which means a shared 3rd with Swedbank and Fletcher and judges are hard on them ranking them as last of this trio.
CSC around Abal and Plaza with a strong team here. But the performance might have been too weak for a top result today. 11s down. But their climbing squad is probably concentrating for the mountain top finish tomorrow.
Magna is led by Simon but different to the last few teams they can`t take a top position today. Actually they only beat Allianz BMW avoiding last being in the same time with them. So we have once more a new leader but it`s not sure yet if it`s Meyer again or a Oz rider.
This will be decided now as the Oz time trial monsters go around the last corner. In the end closer than expected as the clock is almost reaching Jaguar`s time. 3s seperate those two teams showing how strong Jaguar was riding today.
This also means that Ford can`t get the yellow again and instead it`s Fletcher`s Meyer being in the lead after one day off. But at least the "goal" to win both TT`s is reached for Oz.
