[EPIC] Team Champion System
Silvio Herklotz
We are still looking for a proper banner to make this HQ as shiny as possible. If you would like to support our idea by helping with this, feel free to contact us - we'd be very delighted.

INTRODUCTION

Welcome at the HQ of Team Champion System, the first Communist cycling team in the world. We see it as our duty to sensitize people for progressive ideas and to spread not only such, but also a whole concept of Anti-Capitalism, Anti-Racism, Anti-Fascism and Anti-Sexism. We feel that our modern world is ready for a transformation to the better, more and more people begin to rate love and solidarity higher than hate and profit. Thus we will unite our forces aiming to make the world a better place for everybody.

SPONSORS

Of course we really dislike multinational companies exploiting workers and consumers. However, no pro cycling team would work without a healthy economical background. We are lucky to have found many companies supporting our idea, which shows that there are certain economic players believing in a brighter future as well.

Champion System specializes in the production of high quality custom technical apparel. Not only professional teams but also amateur athletes are relying on Champion System because of its enormous knowledge and quality. Unfortunately, that leads to high prices for the customers - we are not yet in the position to stop capitalist exploitation, but we are working on it.

Established in 1899, Fuji Bikes is one of the oldest bycicle brands in the world. Utilising most advanced technology, Fuji offers a whole line of premium bikes - specifically for professional cyclists and everybody who loves cycling in general. We won't even speak about the price policy...

GOALS

There are some rules of the old system, we have to stick to, because otherwise we would no longer have the possibility to race at that level. A system change can only start in the system, which is to be changed, not from an outside spot. That is why our own goals are added up by such the UCI sets us in their usual authoritative manner. Original goals are in normal, countered goals in italic fond.

RESULTS

We do not primarily race for results, but to make the world a better place. However, as winning races draws attention to us and our idea, we do always give our best in order to achieve results. Still, because we aim for an all-round transformation, we won't list any of our results here. But when we accomplish our big goal, believe us, you will notice.

The Hobbit
Hmmm it seems I am yet to make an introduction. Its news to me but...

Firmansyah signing in

Hello everybody, it is Firmansyah here! I am looking forward to a successful season at Champion Systesms, and realised, if the fans were going to cheer my name, then they would need to know who they were cheering for first!

As an Indonesian, it is great to be at an asian team for the first time. From a personal pointof view, it is great to be at a Socialist/Communist team. Growing up in Indonesia, I have experienced an unfortunate amount of poverty in my life. I watched as the tsunamis swept through my town, and still the corrupt western capitalists did nothing to help.

In orer to sign for Champion Systems I had to take a pay cut, since we do not believe in currency, but I am happy with the team and support network around. I look forward to showing the world that the capitalist propoganda is wrong.

For those of you that do not know, I am a young punchy climber. For now, it seems unlikely that I would be winning races, but hopefully I can develop my talents to new heights and will soon be leading the team.

To quote Lenin,
A revolution is impossible without a revolutionary situation

Lets hope I can provide that situation.

mh.. if you could make that with a red background and golden symbol/letters and maybe add "team" somewhere, then I'd really like that as a header for posts.. thanks Smile

EDIT: Don't add Team, that looks rather stupid as I played a bit around. Just that one with the basic red background and golden symbol/letters please.

@The Hobbit: It's perfect, thank you.

Now I just need a decent introduction banner. But that will work out, I guess. Pretty excited about the following season Smile

OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON #CYCLEGATE

Dippo's report on #Cyclegate was a pretty amazing read. It is nice to see things are feeling so real around here.

As I have not been asked on that topic, but feel like this is a rather important subject, I chose this spot to give some ideas about the whole thing. (By the way, why is nobody asking us? Probably people don't want our rather special view on things Pfft ).

I have to side with Cycleman concerning TMM's actions. Sometimes it seems like you (TMM) would see yourself in an authorised position. Of course, most of what you say and suggest is obviously joking, but sometimes people could misunderstand certain things, which might end badly. The only one having the right to make authoritative decisions is the EPICUCI and while I do believe we all should discuss about stuff - and thus give an overview of what people think in order to come to an agreement, I have to admit that TMM sometimes tends to go over the top.

Nonetheless, Cycleman's enquiry or pre-deal or whatsoever is just inappropriate in my opinion. Let's face it: It does not really matter if you just talk about what could happen during transfers or arrange a deal, that should just not happen at all. Especially when the upgrades are not even done yet, one should never talk about transfers - and so it really bothers me that first negotiations already took place in August!

Why would you even want to discuss about such stuff at this early point? You are just unable to explain why it was necessary to make that inquiry already before the season's end. I'm sorry, but that just makes everybody believe you wanted to take advantage out of it.

On the other hand, I wouldn't give a too hard punishment. That may seem odd now, but from my personal view, Cycleman did not want to cheat or anything similiar, he just was too eager. Probably, most of us already have (more or less) "short"-lists (remember the Champion System one? Cool ), but because of the rule we did not contact other managers about that. While I'm asking myself, why Cycleman just did not stick to the rule and waited like everybody else, I would not say that should make him unable to compete in the next season. On top of that, it would be really dumb to post the things Dippo listed when you are going to take advantage by arranging pre-deals. That is, I would say, proof for Cycleman not having bad intentions. Maybe we should leave it with cutting some improvements on riders (as EPICUCI already did, if I'm not mistaken?) and just remind everybody to stick to the rules, because they are rules for a certain reason.

One last thing, which I think should be remembered as well, is that - to be fair - knockout did also not act properly. I do like knockout personally, but all in all his behaviour was wrong as well. #Cyclegate could have also been prevented if he had just said that he is not willing to talk about any transfer enquiries or pre-deals at all. Please don't get me wrong, of course most people would talk a bit when asked about such things, because we all are nice people in the end (though I'm not sure about TMM..), but knockout could also have been preventing damage.

To come to an end, I call onto your consciense, when stating that it would be wrong to make Cycleman listen to Justin Bieber as a punishment for all of this.

Maybe placing the paragraph on top was not the best idea...
Still, it feels like you wanna see Cycleman burn (and some others I assume Pfft )

If you mean people like me with the last part, you're kinda wrong. I was obviously joking, although i think its quite funny that got caught being involved in something like this twice. I don't think he wanted to have an advantage, but i think some of TMMs punishment ideas quite good. f.e. dont let him buy U25 riders(which is on the edge to "too harsh"Wink.

But this wasn't the reason for my post!

Lars Grawunder is wishing his future team a great christmas time, and he hopes that he can help the team to find a good start in the new year.

I choose this thread as the place to comment on the whole story since you already mentioned my role. I hope this is okay, to you! If not, tell me, and I'll delete/move it
( Didnt had time to write one yesterday, otherwise it would have been part of the tracker itself but shorter)

I agree with you. I did not behaved like I should have.
Part of the reason, why I forwarded all PMs to Dippo when he asked, was that cycleman was not the only one to blame and nobody knew that I was the other one and it was only fair to tell all of you.

From my side this was the most important sentence of the special:

Talks, allthough no deals were arranged, followed

In these story games, I enjoy the tactical decisions (race planning) and especially the transfer period the most and it is always interesting to try to figure out endless possible scenarios.
Seeing, how these tactics work out interest me much more than only the role playing and tbh, I would not be part of this if it was only and only about it. (Yes, I do realize that EPIC is a lot about RP)

Knowing who could be available and a vague information what kind of offer (rider swap / money ) is likely to be needed helps a lot. That was my reason to not stop those talks immediately especially since I remembered that Ollfardh wrote earlier that talks are not forbidden (although his reason was only that he said he couldnt control it anyway but nevertheless, he allowed it). (I remembered correctly, didn't I?)
If he would have said "Pre-Talks are forbidden" then i would have ofc followed that rule.

I never had the intention to make a concrete deal or offer and until the pm that dippo published nothing came (in my opinion) close enough. And Dippo seems to agree with me since all of his article was based on the pm's itself and not on sth i told him.

For me, talks are acceptable as long as no pre-deal is done (as long as not said otherwise). And the definition of a pre-deal for me is:
a) a mutual agreement between two teams before the start of the transfer period with the exact conditions
(Agreeing to discuss about a transfer including Intxausti and Matthews is okay. Agreeing on a deal "Intxausti for Matthews" isn't)
b) without giving other teams the fair chance to overbid the offer.

Spoiler
I like to add that Ollfardh also has seen all previous pm's and was always up to date during the last month.

A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

@Paul: Sorry, that was just a misunderstanding. I never meant you with that - I meant that TMM wants to see some burn, not that some people want to see Cycleman burn. Wink

@Lars Grawunder: We're looking forward to the season as well. We hope you feel like home in our family and we'll do big stuff next season altogether..

@knockout: Of course you may post here. Smile
I like the negotiating process as well and even just thinking about what could be.. As there was no pre-deal its not big of a deal in the end. I'm sooo excited for transfers season Grin

TO OUR DEAREST EPIC RIDERS

It's the end of the year guys, so you know what is coming up:
The ChampionSystem Oral Mediation Meeting Uniting Nations, Ideas, Staff and Members!
Or, in abbreviation: COMMUNISM!

From January 3rd to January 15th we will not only have lots of team building activities to connect everybody in our family, but you will also meet the new guys on the squad. At the moment, we are working hard on putting a (mentally and physically) strong squad together. Believe us, there will be nobody who does not share our idea of transforming society into a better one!

www.exklusiv-luxus-finca-pollenca-mallorca-vermietung-haus-villa.de/bilder/start1.jpg

Here's a little shot of where we are going to live together. It's just classy, nothing too expensive, but we hope you will like it - the spirit is what counts anyway...

During renewals, we fired some guys right away - not only all Americans, Japanese, Taiwanese and Aussie guys, but Christian De Vries as well, because he just did not deliver in his last and most important race: The Tour of Beijing. However, don't be afraid something similiar will happen to you - as you are all members of our renewed team, where we think beyond results.

There is also a rather unexpected guy you will see again - Zachary Bell. Though he did not fulfil his tasks last season, he was allowed to stay on the team, because of his great spirit. We truly believe he will make the team work together, laugh together and fight together.

Now back to Communism. We have already sorted out your future role in in the team when we made the signings - as well as who we will be trying to sign. We stick to these agreements, but we prefer keeping such things from public. If you personally know anybody who you think would fit in the team, feel free to tell us, we will then see what we can do.

However, we would like to discuss your wishes about what races you want to tackle next season (not only Part 1 please, as we plan the whole season by one). Of course you have time to decide on that, but we would appreciate it if you could tell us and the public during the next weeks which races you would like to be in and which ones will be you main targets. Then we can discuss about it and as we are sticking to a consent-oriented structure all around, we will surely find a satisfying solution - if there will be any disagreements at all, which we seriously doubt.

Furthermore, please feel free to introduce yourself in our new HQ if you feel like doing it.

Ollfardh
Hello China!

For those of you who missed my earlier introduction, my name is Kim Po-ding, I'm a 24 year old cyclist from the glorious nation of North-Korea. My victories this year include the Continental Championship time trial, Algarvia and Bayern General Classification, and of course, the U23 World Championship Time Trial.

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/wc%202013/wc_tt_u23_05_zpsf7a5f36d.jpg

My greatest skill if obviously my time trial. I am not allowed to describe how I was trained for this in North Korea, but a great deal of pain was involved. Pain that made me stronger. I can also climb good, but I'm not an attacked, I just follow. Then destroy opponents in time trial!

My main goal next year will be the Tour de France, which I could not ride this year. I will also be targetting to extend my titles in Algarvia and the Continental Time Trial Championships. Unfortunately I cannot defend my U23 title, as I became too old this year. I will target the main event though.

~ Po-ding

Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

The Hobbit

First of all, I am honoured to be able to have an input in my race schedule, and I am more impressed every second by the attitude of the team and I now feel certain I have made the right choice. However, I am still unsure of the dates in the calendar, but I hope I can be of as much help as possible.

I have faith in the team to pick a race schedule which fits me well, but I do have a few preferences where I would like to ride, and ideally lead or have a free role.

Tour de Langkawai (near my home country)
Tour of Austria (during a grand tour so little competition hopefully)
Late season Italian classics (I feel I would have good chance in these races if I develop well)

Other than that I am happy for the team to pick my schedule and role, but here are a few suggestions of races that are well suited to me...

Tour de San Luis
Volta ao Algarve
Tour of California
Tour of Denmark
USA Pro Cycling Challenge
Japan Cup

I understand I am far from the peak of my powers as a rider, but I would appreciate any opportunity I can get to lead the team, which was one of the reasons I favoured this offer. I would appreciate if I could not ride the same schedule as other leaders (except sprinters) where possible, but other than that I have no real preferences, except in Langkawai, where I really do hope I am the leader.

Silvio Herklotz
A little reminder to our EPIC riders: If you did not tell us yet what your goals next season are and where you want to ride, please do so, because we want starting to plan the season right after the transfers.

TRANFERS STARTING

As everybody should have noticed already because of the huge number of HQ updates all over the place, we just entered the transfer season. We at Champion System did not just relax at home as well, but we traveled through the whole world in order to secure the best riders for our team next season.

We are proud to announce that Janier Acevedo joined us from free agency. With his 28 years he is rather old for entering pro racing, however, we feel like he is a super-important addition to the squad.
On top of that, we have already brought Vladimir Karpets to the team. He will be a decent domestique next year and we truly thank Movistar for letting him go rather easily.

If you're asking why these guys were main targets for us, don't worry you will learn everything about it when we introduce the whole team to you, which will be after its completion of course. Prepare for that big press conference then!

Still, it is rather obvious for those two. Karpets is from Russia and as the Soviet Union was the motherland of historical Socialism, this is one of our main targets.
A Colombian just had to be added in order to declare our solidarity with Farc, the biggest guerilla group in South America, uniting 17,000 men fighting for a new world order.

From now on, our targets will be mainly three nations which we feel are underrepresented:
- Russia (there should be more guys)
- Spain ("Alerta, Alerta, Antifascista!", Spanish civil war, #FCKFranco)
- Italy ("Bella ciao", Partigiani, #FCKNZS)

Feel free to contact us if you have any Russians, Spaniards or Italians you would like to see helping us reaching for glory.

TRANFERS UPDATE: BELLA ITALIA

We're working hard on bringing a strong squad together and after some fair deals we may announce three new signings. All these guys are Italian, all these guys are strong additions to our family and all these guys will hopefully bring us closer to our goal for next year: Stepping up to the World Tour.

From AG2R, Rinaldo Nocentini and Manuel Belletti joined us. That certainly was a big deal as Rinaldo will be a super-domestique for Rajesh with his strong skills on hilly terrain. On top of that, he will also help Po-ding in the mountains, so he is going to be a crucial part of our team for sure. Manuel is prepared to set-up sprints for Fabian, just like he did for Hutarovich at AG2R.

From BMC, Marco Pinotti found his way to us. He will make our team stronger in TTTs especially and fulfil domestique work as well.

With Rinaldo and Marco two very experienced riders join our rather young squad and they will surely help our younger riders in difficult situations - on and off the road.

We hope the new guys are appreciated by our other team members and that these three will be a part of our family in everybody's mind from now on. Wink

As of now, we are looking forward to adding even more strength to our squad. Especially some Russian and Spanish guys will join us if everything works out - and hopefully we will be able to get a rider from Venezuela, one of the rare Socialist countries on the globe.

For everybody, who wants an explanation why Italy was one of our main target nations, here's something for you:

TRANFERS UPDATE: Нас к торжеству коммунизма ведёт!

And even more guys are joining us for next season! While time goes on, things are not standing still, around here - we are always working on improving our squad to set up a team capable of stepping up to WT and bringing our idea in everybody's mind.

This time two Russian guys joint us from Team Katusha. Alexey Tsatevich and Petr Ignatenko will be part of our family and they are going to meet everybody at Communism (in case you don't know that's an abbreviation, check some posts above..)

Alexey will be a crucial part of our sprint train and usually help our fellow Iranian to achieve big results - we hope you appreciate this new signing, Naveed! Wink

Petr has some decent skills in climbing and time trialing, so he will usually be a domestique for our leaders on rather hard terrain.

Stay tuned, there are probably two more rounds of signings yet to come - we are still in promising negotiations with another team and our scouts are in Spain looking for talents at the moment.

We'll leave you with some impressions about what happened with Russia after they turned back to Capitalism.. Any more questions what's better now?
