A mountain time trial awaits, if you can call it that. This route is only 6 KM @ 6%, the hardest 2 kilometres are at the start where they average around 9%. Will we have gaps sufficient to shake up the GC? .... Let's find out.



Team Kenya Airways have had little to shout about in this race so far, so let us give them some exposure!
Hussein posts the early lead time of 13'14, this is milliseconds ahead of Bell.



Some, perhaps, would have wondered whether the climbers or the TT specialists would contest this stage for the win. The first quality climber to finish, Rojas Villegas, answers this by setting a time of 12'54. This is '15 faster than TT specialist Cruz.



Rodriguez, who started the stage as the second favourite, is the next stage contender to finish. He is level with Rojas Villegas @ the split with a time of 7'00 ... and finishes faster and moves into the lead with a time of 12'49.


Good times from Alpina - Avianca.

Alpina - Avianca have some great climbers at their disposal. Orozco, still king of the mountains, would set a time of 12'53 and Zurita would finish at 12'55.



There are plenty of chops and changes Rusli is the next to go fastest. After a split time of 6'59 he goes '1 faster with a time of 12'48.



Colorado shows himself today. The Spaniard is having a great tour here, he went level with Rusli at the split but rallied and finished '5 faster with a time of 12'43.

Diniz on course, he finishes with a time of 12'43.

The provisional best time keeps on being broken. Jiriakov is the next to go quickest with a time of 12'42.

Euskaltel-Bavaria Continental Team are starting to pack the top of the leaderboard with their assortment of climbers. Adamou finishes just '1 down at 12'43.


A new best time!

Kulhavy is the next to set the new best time as the quality climbers are really out there now. His time of 12'39 could be good enough to win the stage.



... but it isn't! Jeannesson goes quickest with a stellar time of 12'36, this set after a spilt of 6'50. Only a few riders are to finish now.

With stage favourite Iglinskiy out on course, having set a time of 6'50 at the split, there is only one rider who can take the stage away from the Frenchman.



Stage win Iglinskiy! The Kazakh would win the stage by '1 with a time of 12'35. This time would see him move into 3rd in GC and into the polka dots after taking 26 KOM points on the stage.



Mendes would finish over '31 down but maintains the GC lead by over 1'00, he may have lost the GC over a longer course. Rosskopf stays in second but would have hoped for more after his great performance on stage 4.
