My Name? I'm Ben Moody and I have recently turned professional with the Rapha Condor Sharp team, as I aim to become the best cyclist in the world.
My speciality is Climbing, however I can also put in a pretty good Time Trial.
I am 16 years old and currently race as an Under 16 for Achieve Cycle Coaching, which I have done since I was 14 years old.
As a Youth I have had numerous successes such as winning the NW Youth Tour last year, which is a prestigious youth stage race which takes place in Preston, Blackpool and Lancaster. My next notable success is I won the Youth Tour of Scotland and the IoM Youth Tour, which are two more highly prestigious races within my age category.
I chose to turn professional as I dream to become the first Norwegian winner of all three Grand Tours, and I want to win!
I started cycling when I was 7 years old, and joined my local club Border City Wheelers when I was 8 years old. I started racing at 9 years old, and in my first season I finished 6th in the NW Youth Tour, 2nd in the CDNW Youth League and won the Youth Tour of Cumbria.

Name: Ben Moody
Age: 16 years old
D.o.B: 25/10/1998
Nationality: Norwegian
Secondary Nationality: British
Background
I was born in Norway on the 25th October 1998, however my parents moved to Carlisle in the North of England in 2001, I was raised speaking Norwegian and English, and when I went to school I spoke better English than the English children.
I have been riding a bike for as long as I can remember, my parents are very active, so when I was young they used to take me out mouton biking in a trailer or on a bike seat, and from then on I've always wanted to be independent, so I was determined to get on a bike as early as possible.
When I was young we used to go mountain biking a lot and I remember one holiday where we went to the Danube, and I must of been 8 or 9 and we were doing 50/60 kilometres rides on the mountain bikes, which I loved.
I started cycling as a way to get away from the kids at school that picked on me because I was different, the fact that I didn't like football didn't go down well. I enjoy cycling as it allows me to make me feel better about myself as I can cause suffering and pain to myself and I now that makes me a better rider, I also use cycling as a way to relax and get rid of my anger.
I was approached by Achieve in 2012 about joining their youth team, and I saw it as a great opportunity to join a team and to get experience as riding with a team, so I joined as soon as possible.
This year I have been riding for Achieve until August when I signed my contract with Rapha for next season, and since then I have been riding for Border City Wheelers again, which I enjoyed as I haven't really had the opportunity to ride as a solo rider, and to do what I want.
This year has been a very strong year for me as I have won the most races, that I have ever won.
I started the year at the Tour of Scotland which is a 3 day, 4 stage race, which features two difficult days in the hills, a city centre crit and a short time trail. On the first hilly stage my team worked for me until the final lap, where I attacked and got away in a group of 3 riders, who fought out the finish, and I was able to pick up 2nd place on the stage, but as I was the best placed on GC I took the lead. Then on the final day we controlled the race until the final lap where I followed and attack and found myself in a 9 man group with 2 teammates with me, so they led me out and I won the stage.
The next big race for me was the IoM Youth Tour, which is a 3 day stage race on the Isle of Man. In the prologue, not my strongest event, I was 17th just over 4 seconds down on the winner (who was my teammate) then on the next stage which was a hilly stage that took in a pretty long and steep climb, I followed a break and managed to get in a 6 man group and I had one teammate with me, but as we had the lead we didn't have to work in the group so we had fresh legs for the sprint, where I managed to get the win. Going into the final day I was sat 3rd overall just 2 seconds down, so we decided that I had to attack, so going into the final lap I put in an attack and took another rider away with me, who worked with me and then he got the stage and I got the GC win.
One of my favourite races was the NW Youth Tour, as it is my local race and I enjoy the courses they use. The NW Youth Tour is a 3 day, 5 stage race on the first day I was 19th in the prologue and 24th in the road race, so that meant I was in 15th overall going into the next stage. The next day was on a hilly course with a TT in the morning and a RR in the afternoon, in the TT I rode hard to finish 4th and to move up to 7th overall, then in the Road Race I soloed away with 4 laps to go and took the win by over a minute from the next group home, which was led in by one of my teammates, so it was a good day for us as I took the GC, and we finished with two guys on the podium. The final day was a flat day, meaning I just had to negotiate the race to win the GC, and I managed to do that coming home 17th and securing the GC win.

After joining Rapha I was given the opportunity to go to the team's Training Camp in Mallorca, so I jumped at the opportunity. However as we had been in Norway visiting family, it was difficult to find a flight that would allow me to get to Mallorca, so I decided to drive to Mallorca, well when I saw drive, I mean that my dad drove me from Oslo to the port where I boarded the ferry and set sail for Mallorca.
When I arrived I met up with all of the team, and immediately made friends with Kristian House, who I have always looked up to as he is one of the best riders on the British scene, but he is also one of the nicest guys you could meet.
When we went training I was put with a couple of the other young guys, but when we did some hill intervals, I was able to drop everyone easily, so the next day they put me in Kristian's group, but I was still able to drop them on the climbs.
That night Kristian told me that I had a great talent, and that I could become the first Norwegian rider to win the Tour.

The Rapha Condor team roster for the 2015 season, can now be announced, and we are proud to say that it is the strongest line up yet.
The Team Leaders
Damiano Cunego
After the risk of not getting a team the former Giro winner decided to join us as absolute team leader, this may be his last season on the road, so lets hope he can go out with a bang.
David Millar
After retiring in October, David is back and has joined the team for one final year, and has said that this will definitely be his last year (or will it?) David has joined to help to nurture the young talent that we have on the team, and to act as road captain in races that race radios aren't allowed.
Thor Hushovd
In a shock turn of events, Thor joins the team as he aims to have more time to spend with his family, after a long and successful career. Thor will form an integral part of our sprint team and is a senior figure for the young riders to look up to.
Ben Moody
The hottest young talent in cycling at the moment, the 16 year old is nearly 20 years younger than Thor, but with a strong 2014 season has proved he is one of the greatest talents in cycling.

This is my first race of the season, and the team's aim is to get Damiano the victory, he is one of the favourites, however he will need us to be strong to support him as there are some strong teams and riders who will try to attack him.
Stage 1 - Hilly Road Race.
On the attack on stage 1
Today I tried to get in the break, but the bunch chased me down every time, so that made me happy as it showed that they thought I was good and a potential threat overall. After the break had gone away I made sure that Damiano was happy and at the front of the bunch, I also went and got him water bottles and food from the team car. I loved every minute of today as I felt like I had made it and that I was on my way to becoming the best, I just hope that I can manage the training and my school work as I have to go to school until I am 18, but my school are very understanding and they give me work to do while I'm away. Today I attack and get a decent gap, but bunch bring me back and I work for Damiano, although when he attacked the favourites went with him, but I wasn't able to help, so I'm a bit annoyed at that, but they were all strong riders who got away, so I guess that shows I'm competitive against the best cyclists in the world.
I can't believe it 3rd in the Young Riders classification and 10th on GC. I can't wait to tell my mum and dad they are going to be so proud of me!

So a quick switch from Madison to Rapha and add in a few new leaders/riders that will comfortably dominate the CT rankings....
Spoiler
I decided against doing the Madison thing and I don't want to dominate the CT it was just that I didn't want to delete them from the game because I wanted it to be starting in 2015. Yeah I admit Cunego was to allow me to win, but so what.

Today is Thor's day, we saw yesterday the form he is in at the moment, and I think this stage will suit him a lot, my job is to look after him all day and then lead him out at the finish, so I am looking forward to it as I get on really well with Thor, and I hope to see him win as he is a great character and all round nice guy.
Today I don't know how to feel as I wanted Thor to win, and to be honest I thought he had won as he had a superb kick, but then riders started to catch him, and Felix won the stage by a millimetre or something, which I'm gutted for Thor as he is super strong at the minute, but at least the guy who won was on our team. To be fair to Felix he must of had an awesome sprint as going into the final kilometre he was in the middle of the bunch and a long way back, that's why I lead Thor out rather than him.

Today Damiano wanted to have a go as he was disappointed about how he did on stage 1, but John [Herety] told him to calm down and to wait until the finale before launching an attack, as he knew it would be useful as we had Thor sat high on GC, but we had to be careful about how the others raced.
Today was a bit disappointing for us on the whole as we lost places on GC, and we didn't gain anything from the stage, which is a shame as we worked hard, but the final climb was to hard for Thor and Cunego was shot before the climb, so he had no legs left.

Today the plan was that we had no plan, we wanted to be flexible so that we could make the most of any situation, and I think that is the best way to race as it doesn't effect how a rider feels on a certain day.
I think we stuck to the no plan plan pretty well as Kelderman attacked and Damiano went with him, and they were able to gain time on the field, which put Damiano up to 2nd on GC, so that was a lot better from our perspective as we are in a lot stronger position for the final few days of the race. Tomorrow is another sprint stage so hopefully Thor can take the win, but we'll have to see what happens.

Today the plan is to work for Thor as he is our sprinter and other riders will get opportunities in other race. Personally I'm happy about it as I'm good friends with Thor and he's my room mate, but he's almost like a brother to me as he looks after me and makes sure I'm doing stuff properly
I can't believe it, my first win as a professional. The guys decided we needed to get someone in the break, so when they decided to work for me I was over the moon. I'm just happy that I managed to get the win after all the team's hard work. It's a shame that Damiano lost time today, in hindsight if we hadn't sent 4 riders in the break he might of been able to get back onto the group, but that would mean that we wouldn't win the stage.

Today Damiano wanted to regain some time, so he was going to go in the break with Jack, Dave and Steve, then we still had a few guys with Thor in case they got brought back, but also so that me and Thor don't lose any time like Damiano did.
Damiano managed to get in the break, and they were able to build up a decent lead over the bunch. However the bunch didn't want him to gain time, so they chased him down hard in the final 20 kilometres, then in the finish Thor picked up the wrong wheel and wasn't able to close down on Giraud before the line.

Today the plan was to just take it easy and to get the race over with as we have had a lot of bad luck this week, with Damiano puncturing and losing 6 minutes. I think we have had some ups and downs this weeks, personally I'm happy with my week as I got a win and a 3rd in the Young Riders classification.
Today we just took it easy in the bunch, and then Thor had a go for the finish, but he was really tired as he has worked hard all week, and has done well on GC. To finish my first race in 9th overall I'm really happy with and the stage win is just a bonus, so yeah I've had a good race, and hopefully I'll get better every race I do.
