Stage 3 is a 191,1 kilometer long stage from Hoogerheide to Aalter. The first two stages has seen two different winners. Will a third one win today? i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Gerald Ciolek will for sure be wanting a stage win.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/Eneco%20Tour/Stage%203/pic02_zps8918f6e3.jpg

Lots of attacking early on today, but in the end, just five riders are allowed to go: i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/kap.png Vojtech Hacecky, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/jag.png Faycal Hamza, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/sbp.png Freddy Johansson, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/b3b.png Jay Sparling and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/lvc.png Michael Boros. All the riders are 28 seconds after i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ozc.png Goss in the GC, except for i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/lvc.png Boros who took bonus seconds on the first stage. He is just 18 seconds behind in the GC and is leading the youth classification. It must be said to be a surprise that he is allowed to be in the breakaway today.

The breakaway is not allowed a very big gap. As they reach the feeding zone, it's down to 3'44", with i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png Quickstep, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Puma and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/bbk.png Belarusbank doing the work in the peloton. Meanwhile, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pbn.png Oleksandr Golovash and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/sbp.png Kasper Klostegaard goes down in a crash.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/Eneco%20Tour/Stage%203/pic04_zpsb992967b.jpg

Having maintained a steady pace, the breakaway has a big enough gap to fight it out for the second intermediate sprint of the day before being caught.

Intermediate Sprint 2
1. (6) i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/kap.png Hacecky
2. (4) i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/sbp.png Johansson
3. (2) i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/lvc.png Boros

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/Eneco%20Tour/Stage%203/pic05_zps9fe5dd80.jpg

There is in fact quite a lot of wind today, and not everyone can stay with the peloton. The biggest name losing contact is i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/kap.png Oscar Gatto, as the number of riders in the peloton is down to just 78 with 38 kilometers to go. But luckily for them, everything comes back together as the pace comes to a stop when the break is caught just a few kilometers later.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/Eneco%20Tour/Stage%203/pic06_zpsef74cb6f.jpg

There is surprisingly little interest for the last intermediate sprint. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png Van Asbroeck leads i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png Vantomme over the line, securing easy bonus seconds.

3. (2) i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/gzl.png Kastrantas

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/Eneco%20Tour/Stage%203/pic07_zps0be15648.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ven.png Venchi and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Heineken moves to the front and increases the pace, causing a huge split to emerge in the peloton with 20 kilometers to go! As many as 94 riders lose contact with the peloton. Among them are i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/abc.png Richeze, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/lvc.png Haussler and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/hrc.png Lavoine, as well as i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/lvc.png Boros (8th GC) and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/jag.png Manfred (9th GC).

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/Eneco%20Tour/Stage%203/pic08_zpsba78428e.jpg

More drama here as i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/afr.png Roman Maksimov crashes! Luckily for him, he is able to fight back, as the peloton once again comes to a stop with 8 kilometers to go.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/Eneco%20Tour/Stage%203/pic09_zpsd9b78898.jpg

Up front, things are very unorganized. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Heineken is the only team able to organize something close to a lead-out. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Gaudin is leading out i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Holloway. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png Vantomme, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ozc.png Goss and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pbn.png Greipel follows on the American's wheel, while i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ven.png Venchi and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Puma struggles to organize a train behind.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/Eneco%20Tour/Stage%203/pic10_zps3175b42f.jpg

Coming into the final three kilometers, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ven.png Claudio Corioni is the first to launch his sprint, although not being in contact with his captain, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ven.png Michael Van Stayen. It might be an idea not to launch too early here, though, as the wind is coming from straight ahead.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/Eneco%20Tour/Stage%203/pic11_zpse9b0a812.jpg

But with i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Gaudin fading, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Holloway sees the need to do just that. He flies past i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ven.png Corioni with 2 kilometers to go. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png Vantomme is clinging to his wheel.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/Eneco%20Tour/Stage%203/pic12_zpsdf89255c.jpg

Riders are everywhere now, as i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png Vantomme moves into the lead. Here's an overview of the situation:

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png Vantomme

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png Vantomme is pulling out the gap and is looking good for another stage win! i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Ciolek is however moving even faster, and is storming past i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pbn.png Greipel to move into 4th position.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/Eneco%20Tour/Stage%203/pic14_zps373b89d0.jpg

With the 1st position seemingly sealed, it's a fight for 2nd place on the last few meters. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Holloway and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ozc.png Goss is fading, while i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ven.png Van Stayen is moving out behind i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Ciolek trying to get ahead.

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png Maxime Vantomme takes the win! Great day for him and his teammates as he takes his 2nd stage win in a row and the leaders jersey.

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Ciolek keeps i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ven.png Van Stayen behind him to take 2nd. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Holloway comes in as 4th and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ozc.png Goss 5th. They might have launched their sprint a bit early today. Behind, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/bbk.png Cavendish sprints to 6th, followed by i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Tolleson, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ven.png Van Avermaet, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/b3b.png Thomas and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/sbp.png Vedel Kvist.
