The sprinter teams were really intent on bringing the break back today. With 35 KM to go only Barclay and Wohler are ahead of the peloton @ '45. We see RBC Pro Cycling contributing to the pace setting as well, hoping to secure the GC win.

Intermediate sprint with 27 KM to go:

Barclay and Wohler would be caught with there still being 15 KM to the finish.


600 meters to go.

Oz Cycling Project leave it to the last stage to form their first sprint train of the entire race. Trains of BelarusBank Pro Cycling, Meiji - Cannondale and Team Puma - SAP aren't here today.

The Aussie champ puts in a big effort but Project: Africa comes charging towards the head of the race.



Lay brings his leader towards the head of the race, however, Ciolek and Lo Cicero are in the slipstream. Giacoppo starts his lead-out.



Lay can't compete with the lead-out from Giacoppo, Goss enters the final 200 meters in the prime position.



As Goss heads towards victory, Maksimov goes backwards and so does the yellow jersey Vanderbiest, who is passed by Vantomme and the marauding array of riders from Meiji - Cannondale.

Ciolek looks to miss out by following the wheel of the yellow jersey.



Stage win Goss! The first time his team set up a lead-out he takes the win by a large margin. That makes it 6 different stage winners, all sprinters.

Meanwhile, a few meters behind, the battle for the GC will be decided in the last few centimetres.....



Lo Cicero finishes second! He takes '12 seconds of bonuses, Vantomme rounds off the podium today.

But what does this mean for the GC? ....



Vanderbiest wins the Tour of Taihu Lake, he takes the points jersey in the process. Lo Cicero's 12 seconds were enough to see him level with Vanderbiest, however, presumably, better stage finishes throughout the 6 stages sees the Frenchman take the GC here. Ciolek finishes 3rd in GC, after it went right down to the wire.
