i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/rbc.png Vanderbiest starts his second day in yellow, would he be in the race lead come the end of the longest stage?

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/f2_zps6738d168.jpg
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/spr.pngZamri: the most aggressive rider so far.

The four man break today:

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/kap.pngPagoto@ '24
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/boi.pngHorton@ '24
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/spr.pngZamri@ 3'49
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/scl.pngPostlberger@ 6'58

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/boi.png Horton would join his teammate i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/boi.png Barclay, provisionally, in the top 10 after finishing 1st at both intermediate sprintpoints securing '12 seconds of time.

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/f3_zps39d6508f.jpg

The break would cooperate well today, with 7 KM to go they still had '35 over the usual chasing teams. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/rbc.png RBC Pro Cycling have the race lead but leave the chasing to the other teams.

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/f4_zpsbba5d775.jpg
4 KM to go: the break are caught.

It was a brave effort but the break are caught by the peloton, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Team Puma - SAP are the ones leading the charge. In contrast to the previous stages, today, the final run-in is technical with more than a few turns to be negotiated in the final.

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/f5_zps810f4479.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Team Puma - SAP and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/mei.png Meiji - Cannondale, each, ensure their main sprinter is in a good position with 300 meters to go with a fast finish coming up.

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/f6_zps46cbb251.jpg
250 meters to go.

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/mei.pngNapolitanoi439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.pngGiauxi439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ozc.pngGoss

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/rbc.pngVanderbiest

The speeds are well up with all the above mentioned going well over 70 km/h and some reaching speeds of 80 km/h. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/rbc.png Vanderbiest looks poised to lose the race lead as it will be difficult for him to finish on the podium from here at such speeds with so little distance to go.

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/f7_zpsf3992195.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/mei.png Napolitano shows well in another sprint, but does he know his nemesis is on his wheel and not i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/mei.png Lo Cicero?

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/f8_zps8c60df65.jpg
150 meters to go.

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/mei.png Napolitano goes backwards and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ozc.png Goss leads (right), slightly ahead of i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/mei.png Lo Cicero (left). However, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Ciolek is coming up the fastest.

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/f9_zps155125b2.jpg

Stage win i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Ciolek! The climax of stage 4 sees a fourth different stage winner at Taihu Lake. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Ciolek repays his team's faith after they have set up a sprint train here more often than not, he wins by the better part of a bike length.

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/mei.png Lo Cicero didn't profit as much as Ciolek from i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/mei.png Napolitano's sprint, however, his second place finish is good enough to see him leapfrog i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/rbc.png Vanderbiest, 7th, into the GC lead.

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/bbk.png Cavendish, 3rd, finished very quickly to keep his GC hopes alive just ahead of i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ozc.png Goss and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/hrc.png Lavoine.

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/f10_zps6f141754.jpg
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/afr.png Maksimov: a bit down on the first 7 finishers.

The GC race gets more exciting but the whittling down process of GC contenders increases: only 9 riders are within '20 seconds now of the GC lead.
