Results of intermediate sprint with 95 KM to go:

1st - i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/boi.png Barclay
2nd - i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cpl.png Ghafari
3rd - i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/scl.png Sirionnachi

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/w2_zpse76c8ae7.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/scl.png Sirionnachi was so comprehensively beaten at the first intermediate sprint by the two others he didn't even bother to catch back up to them, he would drop back to the peloton, '2 seconds better off.

So we would have a two man break of the day of i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/boi.png Barclay and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cpl.png Ghafari, both starting the stage at '24 seconds down in GC.

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/w3_zps217179ae.jpg

You would have thought that the sprinters would have contested the third place at the intermediate sprint points with 55 KM to go and with 35 KM to go. Well, they didn't. The domestiques of the chasing teams mopped up the points and bonus seconds.

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Lander was 3rd at the intermediate with 55 KM to go, a move which would see him move into the white jersey.

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/w4_zps81888418.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/mei.png Modolo was 3rd at the intermediate with 35 KM to go.

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/w5_zps19518807.jpg
A good show from Barclay.

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/boi.png Barclay was the last of the break to be caught with 10 KM to go. He had a good day out in the break, finishing 1st at all three intermediate points.

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/w6_zpsee329ecd.jpg
400 meters to go.

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Team Puma - SAP set up the early dominant sprint train today.

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/abc.pngCastanedai439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/flg.pngMeyer

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/afr.png Maksimov is the one who is well out of the mix-up today.

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/w7_zps8b6ca1d7.jpg
250 meters to go.

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Team Puma - SAP's leadout went too early and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/mei.png Meiji - Cannondale (left) and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/bbk.png BelarusBank Pro Cycling (right) come charging through.

For the first time the continental teams are really mixing it up in the sprint with i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/spr.png Awang and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ano.png Serebriakov right up there.

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/w8_zpse5da3ce6.jpg
170 meters to go.

We are going to have a blanket finish today. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ano.png Serebriakov marginally leads the race, but who wins from here is anyone's guess.

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/w9_zps4965dfb5.jpg

Stage win i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/hrc.png Lavoine! The Frenchman wins the blanket finish with i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/bbk.png Cavendish in second and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Ciolek rounding off the podium.

The tightness of the finish shows it could have been one of many taking the win today, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/hrc.png Team Hornbach can now be happy with this Tour of Taihu Lake.

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/rbc.png Vanderbiest, 6th, takes no bonfications today, but remains in the race lead.

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/w10_zps706d2805.jpg

With the top 5 separated by only '4 seconds worth of bonfications this race is still wide open with 3 stages down and 3 to go.
