Welcome to beautiful Tuscany for the 2013 UCI Road World Championships. Over the next few weeks, we will have the following events:
- Team Time Trial
- U23 Time Trial
- U23 Road Race
- Elites Time Trial
- Elites Road Race
Of course we will need coaches for this. Every manager can sign up now, as well as people who already crated a rider for next season. I will also open it for others later on. There will be 24 participants, teams of max 8 (or 9 if possible) riders for road race, 3 for the time trial.
Coaches will be selected on 1) Manager nationality 2) Team nationality 3) First come - first serve basis. So if Atlantius and me both want Belgium and he is first, I will still get the team because of my manager being belgian. Let's say I want Holland instead, I have team nationality, so I will get the team over anyone except a manager who is dutch. I hope that's clear enough.
After three days, I will make the first cut for the guaranteed places. You can post your main choice and a backup, but do not edit them. Any edited post will be disregarded, make a new one instead.
The team time trial will be done by the teams of course. Six riders, time of the 4th counts (I'll probably need my database expert to set the rules like that). You can post them here already.
Progress points will be earned for you with the results you achieve as a national team manager, but also as a normal team manager for the selections and results your riders get. Custom riders also get some progress points for being selected and for getting results. I still need to work out the details, but basicly getting your riders in the national team will be a good thing.
Three more things:
- inactive riders like Andrews, Sithembile, Ghita, Christian De Vries etc. may not be selected.
- you cannot take a rider for both the U23 and the Elites, unless it's an EPIC rider. I really want the U23 to be mostly for the EPIC riders, so use your strongest riders in the Elites.
- as the national team selection requires some interaction, you can't post your teams yet
Here are the countries. As the rankings aren't final yet, the countries at the bottom might not get a spot in the end, though you get the country that replaces them of course.
1) Slovakia
2) UK
3) Colombia
4) Italy
5) Spain
6) Australia
7) Belgium
8) Germany
9) Switzerland
10) Poland
11) USA
12) Netherlands
13) Canada
14) Norway
15) North-Korea
16) Czech Republic
17) Ireland
18) Slovenia
19) France
20) Estonia
21) Portugal
22) Denmark
23) India
24) Chile

Although i might mess up your manager nationality basis, what with not technically being a named manager anymore

Well, you didn't pick a team yet, so I kinda think it is
But yeah, as I will invite new people as manager for the Worlds, I thought it would be a good thing to let you (and trekbmc) to join in the first round already, so you can choose before the others. But the manager and team priorities really apply to the people who are actually managing a team. I hope you can understand that
that sounds great...
and the reason, why i didnt picked a team yet is, that i want to wait for one of my favorite teams to become takeable
