It`s the last mountain stage in this race. Afterwards only the deciding ITT and a flat stage. So teh weaker time trialists really need to gain time here. This in especially counts for Vitor Rodrigues, who can`t be too sure about keeping the GC as Iglinski is the better rider against the clock. But also elsewhere in the top10 and top15 there are little gaps only with some bigger differences in timetrial strength.
6 riders in todays group. All of them are around ~40-50. in the GC and only for the stage win.
Schoffmann
Jumabekov
Vosekalns
Adamou
Rodrigues
Haig

The final climb just started and the break has still more than 3min advance. And we have the first attacks:
Saggiorato
Vrecer
Kiserlovski
Schwab
V. Rodrigues
So the race leader wants to gain time today it seems. So far no reaction by Ochoa Quintero or Iglinski.
A bit later also
Sinelobov
Nicacio
attack.
But actually the pace behind is kept high and so most of them are caught within seconds. Only Saggiorato, Vrecer and Sinelobov are still having a small gap.
Immediately the next attack and again V. Rodrigues one of them:
Raisin
V. Rodrigues
Nicacio
Ochoa Quintero
Alizadeh
Ardila
Dabrowski
Paulinho
Also others like Iglinski, Herklotz, Martinez, Sorensen etc. were trying but it`s obviously not the best day for the Kazakh. This becomes really interesting now as he is the better time trialist but losing too much time today will not help him at all.
The breakaway still has a nice gap and Adamou took the lead.
3min later Saggiorato still with a small gap to a group of 10 including most attackers and also Iglinski was able to join them. Then Sorensen ahead of the peloton including some big names. That said, the gap is not big yet and they haven`t given up. Martinez, Herklotz, Kulhavy!, Parra Bustamante are all working.
A group of 7 tries to bridge the gap and attack out of the peloton:
Kulhavy
Herklotz
Sorensen
Martinez
J. Rodriguez
Parra Bustamante
Yeung
Behind Diniz and Schwab are working as also some Euskaltel riders in the front rows without doing very much though. So those attackers can barely create a gap.
Ochoa Quintero and V. Rodrigues join Saggiorato and are the first chasers of the breakaway now. So again Iglinski is 24s behind and really has to fight now. Not team help by Schwab or Diniz today as they are in the later group 36s behind.
Adamou still in front but Rodrigues and Schoffmann are closing while Jumabekov has lost contact.
While Iglinski is still solely working in the group and has no support it`s Sinelobov attacking. This also shows that it`s not Iglinski`s best day. But the gap is not very big yet.
Adamou is caught and now struggles to follow the other two. But it`s a bit less steep right now and so these three most likely are going to fight for the stage win.
The gap between Rodrigues and Iglinski becomes bigger again and actually it looks like the peloton from behind is closing to the middle group actually.
Saggiorato and Sinelobov are still in between the group.
The fight for the stage win starts and we are on very steep terrain again. Schoffmann in the lead ahead of Rodrigues. Adamou in 3rd position.
In the end Rodrigues goes around and takes the win ahead of Schoffmann and Adamou. Nice result for all of them though.
Jumabekov came in 4th ahead of V. Rodrigues and Ochoa Quintero. So no time bonuses for them, which is good news for Iglinski, who will lose time today. But how much?
In the end it`s 37s only. This gives him 57s in the GC and despite being the better time trialist this is already a task for him to gain back.
Also in the Iglinski group were Sinelobov, Alizadeh, Paulinho, Saggiorato, Ardila, Raisin, Nicacio, Vrecer and former breakaway riders Haig and Vosekalns.
So the group around Schwab, Kulhavy, Parra Bustamante, Herklotz etc. is losing another 28s and actually fought pretty well until the end.
GC wise Kulhavy is pretty much stuck on the 4th ahead of Herklotz, who still has to fear the riders from behind. But so far an awesome race for the young super talent.
Martinez, Niacio both hope to improve a bit in the time trial I guess as the positions 5-11 are only ~2'30 differential.
No abandon today, so in the remaining sprint stage Haedo and Rasmussen are big favourites. Also Pozdnyakov, Polivoda, Clavero, L.S. Haedo, Sabatini are still in the race.
