Yet another huge mountain stage. 1x Cat.2, 2x Cat.1 and a long HC climb to the finish. Iglinski is the new race leader and looked strong so far. His biggest rivals are V. Rodrigues as also Ochoa Quintero and Kulhavy.
This is a very strong breakaway here. 7 riders and some of them pretty well placed in the GC, who surely can become a danger.

Sprint
Paulinho6 Kiserlovski4 R. Fernandez2
We don`t see the teams of the GC leader yet. At the moment Dell (Raisin), Nutresa (Ochoa Quintero), Sauber (Alizadeh) and also Bonsucro (Nicacio) are doing the work.
Cat.1
Popov16 R. Fernandez12 Vosekalns10 Saggioroto8 Paulinho6 Kiserlovski4 Herklotz2
Those slopes look really nasty here. Going up the next Cat.1 climb, we once again see Vrecer attacking early. He really is in attack mode so far without being very lucky. Behind him only 33 riders in the favourite group.
Some better climbers like Adamou, Ebsen, Moinard, Schoffmann, Bakhin or Poorseyedi are already dropped.
That`s a surprise. Without puncturing or crashing Sorensen is dropped. Good for him that Colex is with him.
Dabrowski stays in front though.
Cat.1
Kiserlovski16 R. Fernandez12 Saggioroto10 Paulinho8 Herklotz6 Popov4 Vosekalns2
As good descender, Herklotz used the way down to attack the group. He might not be the best climber of them but is the best placed and might see a chance here.
About 2min for the breakaway at the foot of the mountain. 23km left for them.
And again Vrecer attacking after not being successful the first time.
26 riders left only as Maloja takes over. Diniz is a great support here while Schwab is not yet used as helper for Iglinski. Right now he can still sit in 2nd position and go for his own GC result.
Meanwhile Sorensen has lost even more time. So the team decided that Dabrowski also has to move back to his leader. But one thing is for sure. He won`t make it back today and surely lose time.
Vrecer is caught again. So is Popov and Vosekalns. The remaining breakaway riders are also close to be caught. Only Herklotz is further ahead.
With Schwab now doing the pace, the group is also getting smaller as many riders struggle this high pace.
Behind him there are stronger climbers and four riders in total. Still Herklotz is gaining. 1min already for him with 14km to go.
Iglinski going to the front and immediately many riders lose contact. Only 6 are able to follow him.
The Azteca duo, Parra Bustamante, Nicacio or Raisin probably the biggest names behind.
Great team work here as Schwab takes over again and is now coming to the former breakaway while Herklotz is almost under the 10km banner.
Who else but the big three would be expected to attack?
V. Rodrigues
Ochoa Quintero
Iglinski
No chance for the other four to counter.
This aren`t good news for Herklotz neither as the young German is so close to another stage win.
He is fighting and with 1km to go still has a small gap. But the final is very steep again and the legs are tired after such a long breakaway.
Herklotz really struggling now. Ochoa Quintero and Rodrigues almost next to him while Ignatiev is not looking that good.
Too close. What a pity for Herklotz, who was almost winning a huge mountain stage that early in his career.
Now Rodrigues takes the lead...
...and also takes the stage win. With Iglinski coming in 8s later together with Ochoa Quintero as 2nd and Herklotz on a brilliant 3rd, he is losing the race lead to him as well.
We definitely have a new podium of those three riders for sure as they had a nice gap to the later riders. But more interesting right now that Herklotz will also make a huge jump in the GC and eventually goes into the top10.
Paulinho and Saggiorato also make it ahead of the next group, where Kulhavy comes in first but already 2'57 behind, which means he will be 4th now. With him Kiserlovski and Schwab. And now attention Puma: Herklotz is 5th in the GC after this stage! What a jump by him.
D. Fernandez 3'25 and Martinez 3'51 are next in front of another group around the remaining GC riders coming in with 4'17.
Bad day for Sorensen who is losing more than 8min in the end falling out of the top20 in the GC.
Also several riders did not make the time cut including several sprinters:
Teruel
Willwohl
Awang
Westling
Renäng
Reis
Minard
Lander
Markus
Richeze
Gajek
Korkotyan
Kragh Andersen (Yep, Rasmussen is still in the race!!!)
Cruz
P.H. Wu
Walsleben
