It's time for the critical stage four! The riders will set off from Dunkerque in direction Cassel, where they will race around a tough lap containing a short, but tough cobbled climb, no less than ten times. There is in total 24 kilometers of climbing, whereas almost 17 is cobbled. Will someone be able to challenge i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png Jérôme Baugnies for the win?

Twelve riders reach Cassel with a 5'15" lead on the peloton. The twelve riders are:

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png Quickstep has a huge task in front of them here, with both i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/abc.png Maes and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/jag.png Lagab being present in the breakaway.

Bad news for i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/b3b.png Sparling, as he gets a puncture on the third lap. He loses a minute but is soon able to fight back into the breakaway group.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/5%20Jours%20de%20Dunkerque/Stage%204/pic05_zps85ffa46a.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/abc.png Maes wins the second intermediate sprint of the day. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/kap.png Lietaer is second and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/hrc.png Wynants third. At this point, the riders are around the halfway point. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/amx.png AMEX and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Heineken is leading the peloton 3'22" behind.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/5%20Jours%20de%20Dunkerque/Stage%204/pic06_zps0b7c5f3d.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/jag.png Lagab, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/abc.png Maes, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/b3b.png Sparling and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/hrc.png Wynants are unsurprisingly much stronger than their breakaway companions on the cobbles. They leave the rest behind on the 4th lap. Minus i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/kap.png Lietaer, they are all caught by a reduced peloton counting 73 riders, on the following lap. Some of the big names missing include i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/jag.png Bakari, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/rbc.png Machado, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/kzi.png Taillefour and the whole i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Puma-team.

The second KoM sprint of the day is won by i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/hrc.png Wynants ahead of i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/jag.png Lagab and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/abc.png Maes.

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/kap.png Lietaer is brought back with 50 kilometers left of road, meaning we have four guys left in front of the peloton. They have an advantage of 2'33". i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Heineken is still doing the work in the peloton. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Holloway is looking sharp.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/5%20Jours%20de%20Dunkerque/Stage%204/pic09_zpsbbdeb45e.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/gzl.png Thiago Duarte Nardin is the first rider to try his luck in the peloton. It doesn't last for long though, as he is caught on the next climb.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/5%20Jours%20de%20Dunkerque/Stage%204/pic10_zpsd1ea222e.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/b3b.png Geraint Thomas is not having a great day it seems. He and 14 others lose contact 40 kilometers away from the finish line. The peloton is reduced to just 31 riders.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/5%20Jours%20de%20Dunkerque/Stage%204/pic12_zpsd0d87070.jpg

Three laps left, and things seems to come back together. The leading group is just 30 seconds ahead of the peloton, where i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Holloway still hangs on. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/jag.png Lagab sense they are coming closer and decides to go solo, while the other three quickly are brought back. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/jag.png Lagab takes the next KoM-sprint while attacking, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/abc.png Maes is second over the top and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png Baugnies third. Meanwhile, we get news that i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Barry Markus has decided to abandon the race.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/5%20Jours%20de%20Dunkerque/Stage%204/pic13_zps7d8656e4.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/jag.png Lagab stretches out a nice gap, leading the race with 1'24" as we head into the final 20 kilometers.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/5%20Jours%20de%20Dunkerque/Stage%204/pic14_zps6f744dbb.jpg

There are no attacks among the favorites yet. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/jag.png Lagab heads into the cobbled climb for the second to last time. The gap is down to 1'12" with i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Langeveld and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Gaudin still leading the pack for i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Holloway.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/5%20Jours%20de%20Dunkerque/Stage%204/pic15_zpseb77d367.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/jag.png Lagab holds onto his advantage and wins the last KoM-sprint of the day, passing the line 1'09" in front of the peloton where i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Gaudin is second and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png Baugnies is third. Eight more kilometers to go! When will the favorites start attacking?

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/5%20Jours%20de%20Dunkerque/Stage%204/pic16_zps56e2813e.jpg

It doesn't seem like they are going to at all. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/jag.png Lagab starts ascending the cobbled climb for the last time today. Can he hold onto his 1'02" advantage all the way to the top?

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/5%20Jours%20de%20Dunkerque/Stage%204/pic17_zps9b4f8b77.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ozc.png Visconti goes right as the peloton starts their ascent towards the finish. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Holloway tries to close the gap with i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/sbp.png Hermans on his wheel.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/5%20Jours%20de%20Dunkerque/Stage%204/pic18_zpsf5cb3044.jpg

But it's just i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ozc.png Visconti who can pull out a gap. He is closing in on i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/jag.png Lagab fast!

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/5%20Jours%20de%20Dunkerque/Stage%204/pic19_zpsf8fa8ed7.jpg

He seems empty, though, as i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/jag.png Lagab once again pulls out the gap. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png De Maar is leading the fight for third. Pre-favorite i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png Baugnies has also finally started to move.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/5%20Jours%20de%20Dunkerque/Stage%204/pic20_zps4b90afb7.jpg

But it's i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/jag.png Lagab who wins! A great stage for the Jaguar-rider who has been ahead of the peloton for the entire stage. His great effort is furthermore awarded with the pink jersey for being best rider in the GC!

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/5%20Jours%20de%20Dunkerque/Stage%204/pic21_zpsfbe16c5a.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png De Maar takes second for i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png Quickstep, just managing to pass i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ozc.png Visconti before the line. Both lose 41" to the winner. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png Baugnies follows in fourth an extra 16" behind.

i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w595/VizZaP/PCMdaily%20Management%20Game/5%20Jours%20de%20Dunkerque/Stage%204/pic22_zpsee300f56.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/hrc.png Trentin leads the rest of the peloton over the line 1'26" after the winner. Impressive performance by i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/lvc.png Heinrich Haussler and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Dan Holloway here, who both are present in the group and holding 5th and 6th place in the GC.
