Tour of the Middle East - Stage 6
roturn

2nd sprint stage in a row and as you can see it`s not the easiest finish with some short but steeper hills. So once more the hillier sprinters might have an advantage here.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/Middle%20East/mg2014_middleeast_6_PCM0184.jpg

Only 2 riders in the breakaway.
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/evo.png Mager
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/bon.png Gaspar
More than 23min behind in the GC for both.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/Middle%20East/mg2014_middleeast_6_PCM0192.jpg

Despite being no GC danger it`s ONCE working for Kulhavy it seems as they don`t really have an option for today. The sprinter teams surely will like this.

All 3 sprints are reached and here the results:

Sprint
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/evo.png Mager6
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/bon.png Gaspar4

Cat.4
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/evo.png Mager5
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/bon.png Gaspar3

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/spr.png Awang2

So Awang was able to get a few points in the sprinter competition.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/Middle%20East/mg2014_middleeast_6_PCM0197.jpg

40km left and a bit under 3min. Time for the sprinter teams to show themselves on the final part. Sauber for Awang, PrivatBank for Polivoda and also Puma for Minard it seems. At times also Azteca for Haedo is working, which could work as he is one of the better hilly riders within the sprinters.
You can see the hills pretty good here. Surely not the most ideal stage for the pure sprinters.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/Middle%20East/mg2014_middleeast_6_PCM0201.jpg

As last rider Mager is caught by the field and now also the wind really raised.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/Middle%20East/mg2014_middleeast_6_PCM0203.jpg

7km left and many riders are struggling to keep contact. Losing contact now could really ruin the GC for you. So far almost all riders are still within that group though.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/Middle%20East/mg2014_middleeast_6_PCM0205.jpg

Three sprint trains today.
Puma, Sauber and Azteca. No sign of Rasmussen today, who seems to struggle on the hills.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/Middle%20East/mg2014_middleeast_6_PCM0221.jpg

Lander with a huge leadout after one hill. Only Minard and Rodriguez can follow, while all others sit behind the Sauber train. Azteca struggles the most at the moment.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/Middle%20East/mg2014_middleeast_6_PCM0226.jpg

Next hill and Lander opens a gap to the rest. Either Minard was not able to follow or it was a brilliant tactic here.
Also mentionable that JJ Haedo is in 2nd position now behind Minard as the Azteca rider left his train and decided to go on his own.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/Middle%20East/mg2014_middleeast_6_PCM0228.jpg

Last km is pan flat again and Lander still having a nice gap to the rest. Pozdnyakov and Haedo come next at the moment with Minard, Awang, Richeze, Teruel and Westling all in a good position as well.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/Middle%20East/mg2014_middleeast_6_PCM0232.jpg

Lander is slowing down with the two riders from behind closing the gap fast. But it`s not far to the line.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/Middle%20East/mg2014_middleeast_6_PCM0234.jpg

But it`s enough. The Puma rider celebrates a great stage win here. This was pretty surprising to be honest.
Haedo as 2nd with a good result seeing his sprint train collapsing. Pozdnyakov with yet another good result.
Awang surprisingly strong as 4th ahead of Richeze, Minard, Westling, Teruel.

And good to see that no rider got dropped in the wind today.
