I recently purchased pcm 2012 after a few year hiatus from the series. I played PCM 2006 and 2008 and enjoyed both. I think the games are similar besides the graphical updates. I bought the game on Amazon for 2.50 and it hardly ever crashes which is great. However, I do have a few gripes that I am sure people have heard and I want to vent about it.
The first is how the guys in the front of the peloton can ride slow and you can't get any guy up to relay or attack. I was riding a mountain stage tonight and 20 riders got about 8 minutes and there was nothing I could do. Then I bring all my guys to the front and have my two weakest riders relay. The peloton explodes and what happens? My second best climber is stuck at the very back of the peloton for no reason and is dropped. He was up at the front with my leader. This happens all the time when one of my strong riders decides to follow a rider that is going to the back. It is completely random and even sometimes when I am closely watching it still happens and I have to attack to get up to the guys riding away. It does help to up the rider percentage but most of the time they will just ride around the slower rider. It's annoying that I have to watch every rider all the time. I didn't have to in the older versions.
Another gripe is that if I have a minute or so on another group they can make up a minute or two when my group is going up a hill. Have they still not fixed that?
Also, why do I have to simulate through the days after oct 25th? Just do it for me! The riders have left on holiday but they keep getting sick. I have to assign a doctor which means I have to sit in front of my computer if I want get to the next season. I had three riders get sick during my most recent career. Last season I had the same rider get sick three times! I almost fired him.
Also, when a rider doesn't choose to stay with his team why do I get an email that he is embarrassed by his choice and all these teams are wanting to sign him? Must have been a translation error.
My biggest complaint is the simulate without interruption button. It always interrupts so what's the point!
I think PCM is a great game but some of the things it does are just bizarre. Ok, I feel better now. Back to the game.
