Editor Changes back to default all the time

Dear Peeps
I am trying to make a difficulty between hard and extreme, alas trying to make extreme level a bit less extreme. I change the value for extreme in STA_difficulty, save/extract cdb, but when i start the game, close again, and open cdb in editor, the value is set back to default as 1.049999 something...
When i play a stage its still very difficult, so i figure it doesnt work.
ive tried both lachis and fast editor, and i edited the local.cdb in both the daily expansion and the default one..
anyone got an idea? would be mad appreciated

Check the file date. After Extract to cdb, the file date should change.

Then, if the file date changes after starting the game, the game has overwritten the local.cdb. Maybe setting it read-only can help.

date doesnt change at all, after finishing the edit

i tried to use full editor, extracted to another folder, copied the file, and now it seems to be working, thx for the help lachi, you're awesome!

Regarding my editor: If the date did not change, you forgot to "export to cdb" after your editing.
