How to change variants?

Hi, I am searching this web for a long time and I still cant find any step-by step tutorial on changing variants during a carreer. I am in first season of PCM 2013, installed 2014 database and realised that TdF has completely fictional stages. I can see there are many variants for these stages in PCM folder. How can I change them? If there is any thread on this topic already I just cant find it... thx
