Fabian Cancellara won't take the start tomorrow because he wants to focus on other targets this season (World Champs)

He must be very demotivated after the first week (especially). A lot of almost, but no glory. Tomorrows stage could have been decent for him, as a one-last-try. But fair enough, there's not much left for him, as Tony will clearly win the final TT anyway.
We can probably start looking into tomorrows stage already. Who is your favorites? I think someone like Leopold König could be a decent bet for it. There's almost no mountainspoints to grab, but still a rather difficult stage. It could also be time for Gallopin to try and claw a couple of minutes back to stay in the top 10 for another mountainstage.

I could see Roche take it tomorrow, or at least I hope so. Wont make it that much better, but it would still be great for the team. Visconti showed great shape yesterday, so he should also be in contention. But pretty hard to predict as always on these breakaway stages.. |

Mollema had the stomach flu in the first week of the Tour. Particularly in the arenberg stage he was empty. And ofcourse as after effects he was not 100% in the first mountain stages. |

What about Kristoff and Sagan? I think they will want a mass sprint. |

But can Katusha and Cannondale control a stage like that? Astana probably doesn't care, and no other sprinter team will be interested in helping out either... Perhaps Orica for Gerrans though.

Perhaps Argos if Degenkolb is feeling better. We'll see. Boring day today, without Le Tour . |

Dno, maybe they will and we may see some team pulling for no reason as a result of them missing the break. Much could happen, but I definetely think that tomorrow is for the break. The day after is more suited to control imo. |

Perhaps they wreck the peloton on the last few climbs.
Naam Gem % Lengte Hoogte Hoogteversch. Na km. Tot finish Cat.
Côte de Rogna 4,9 % 7,6 km 766 m 372 m 141,0 km 46,5 km 3e
Côte de Choux 6,5 % 1,7 km 834 m 110 m 148,5 km 39,0 km 3e
Côte de Désertin 5,2 % 3,1 km 998 m 161 m 152,5 km 35,0 km 4e
Côte d'Échallon 6,6 % 3,0 km 969 m 198 m 168,0 km 19,5 km 3e
Not too steep though, and the last one is at 19,5km from the finish. Should be for the break. Please let Tom Dumoulin win . |

Think after a rest day and with generally 5% climbs there will be enough interest in a reduced bunch finish for one of the hardier, motivated sprinters - Sagan or Kristoff or Trentin maybe but suppose a break may stick too.

I think that Sagan might actually jump into break himself, to not rely on uncertain outcome, because not many teams would help Cannondale with pulling it back. Or they will send DeMarchi there.
Should be an interesting stage, so i am looking forward to it. Go Peter!
