While no official signings will be made until the season ends, you can use this topic to request any rider you like.
The team will definately include:
Dean Downing
Ross Muir
Matt Talbot
Giancarlo Checci
Ben Price
Richard Wilkinson
plus all the PCM.daily riders:
Marc John
Bjørn Johnson
Adam Richardson
Josh Crompton
Matt Booth
Russel Downing will join the team if DFL - Cyclingnews are relegated, DFL are currently 19th, but are only around 6 points behind 17th. |

A priorirty needs to be Cobbles + Climbers. Dean Downing is a good sprinter, and Russel (If we get him) is even better, yet at the moment there are no strong climbers or cobbles stars. |

Yes but they wont be much higher than 70 in January.
As this is a british team, maybe some British riders should be targeted?

Yes theyre available but I think some more experienced riders would be good aswell. How about David Millar? Great Time Trialer and he also took 2nd in this years Paris-Nice.
Brits arent everything though, one thing we definately need is Climbers. I would suggest Dario Cataldo, Igor Anton, Bernard Kohl and Charly Wegelius. Anton + Cataldo would probably be keen to race in the ProTour, Wegelius may like to ride for a British team, not sure about Kohl though. Neither of the 4 could win a Grand Tour though

Maybe Roger Hammond. Of course, any decent Brit rider needs to be added. Mark Cavendish as well?
Other than that, maybe some more English speakers like Michael Rogers

Discovery Channel may be a little reluctant to let Hammond go as he is 25th in the ProTour having had great results, such as 2nd in Paris-Roubaix.
Rogers would be a great addition as a climber and as he is only T-Mobile's 4th best climber, he may be available. Cavendish has just signed for FDJ.com, but Im sure he would rather be the lead sprinter at Rapha Condor than the number 2 to Eisel. |

Yeah, we need a lot more domestiques. Considering are fairly small squad size (12), we need about 8 more domestiques/neo-pros/young riders, and 5 riders who will bring us wins now. Does anyone agree with me?

Yes if we're ProTour we definatly need to expand our team.
I think Rogers is a good signing, how about Valverde, or Karpets. David Arroyo maybe |

Just had a good idea, He could be a super Road captain and a great Domestic.
Malcom Elliot , Hes 45 (I think) but he still has skill check the results and get ideas from that wat would you expect his skill to be.
How about Chris Newton would be a good Domestic.
David O'Loughlin would also be good.

i have a few more suggestions:
-Vincenzo Nibali (young climber with potential)
-Igor Anton (young Euskatel rider very nice climber with potential)
-Alberto Contador (may want more of a leader role than he would get at Astana)
-Philippe Gilbert (hily/cobbled classics)
-Robert Gesink (young stage racer, with potential)
-Charles Weglius (domestique)
-Filippo Pozzato (hilly classics)
-Pieter Weening (hilly classics)
-Gerald Ciolek (young sprinter)
-Bernhard Eisel (young cobble clasiccs/sprinter)
obviously not expecting all of them, i'm mearly giving a choice for the rest of the team

I like the emphasis on young riders. My picks out of that bunch would be Contador, Nibali and Gilbert

As Cummings is currently ranked 3rd in the ENECO tour riding for Landbouwkredit, I think he is worth getting, Ill look throug hthe other people in a minute.

Valverde and Karpets are out of the question, but Im keen to get Arroyo (77 MO), as a Mountain helper. If we're after Domestiques then David O'Loughlin would be a good choice.
Onto Addy's list.
Im not too keen on Nibali.
I think Igor Anton would be a great signing, especially considering that the Euskaltel team will soon be defunct.
Contador would be a great signing as a climber and I would also like to see Joseba Beloki signed as a mountain helper.
Phillipe Gilbert has only just signed a deal for Quick Step so is unavailable.
Rob Gesink would be another great signing, and it would be easy too since he rides for Rabobank Continental.
Wegelius is as good as signed as far as im concerned.
Wiening and Pozzato would be handy signings, we'll see if we need them as Im not too sure.
For the sprinters I think we should only sign 1 between Eisel, Cavendish + Ciolek. Eisel is the Paris-Roubaix winner but Cavendish has a stronger sprint and a higher potential - he struggles a little on hills though. Ciolek would be a useful signing, but I would prefer one of the other 2. |
